Golden Screams at DCA

Post by danimal3114u » Sep Tue 25, 2007 1:46 pm

The new Halloween show at the Golden Dreams theater in DCA is actually pretty fun. I was hesitant going in (as I don't really like Golden Dreams), but it's actually a fun little show with some classic clips from the Disney movies and a twist ending. I'd suggest that if you've in DCA around a show time, you check it out, as it's pretty fun (and a little corny), but a good use of the theater.
Has anyone else had a chance to check the show out, and if so, what did you think?

To be fair, I only saw it once, and I think it was actually at one of the preview days, so I'm probably not the best reviewer of Golden Dreams

I went to Disneyland yesterday and totally forgot about stopping by there. By the time I went to check it out, the last show had already passed. I asked one of the cast members there what it was. For those of you who want to know what it is, it's an awards type show for Disney villians.

It sounded very interesting and will definitely make an effort to see it the next time I go there.

I probably should have a done a better job describing the actual show, sorry about that.
Golden Screams is a "big annual awards show" for the best Disney Villian / Disney Villian scream. It's about a 15-20 minute show, and they have the inside of the theater decorated and have some fog that ads to the atmosphere as well. Along with the clips from classic movies I already mentioned, there's a live host and some great audience interaction. The showing I went to the theater was packed, and everyone around me had a great time. They do a great job getting the audience involved and I suggest you check out the show, no matter how old you are or who you're visiting with!

Thanks for the heads up, do you know how long it will be running? We will be there in late Nov. and hope it is still going.

Since the "golden dreams" is gone for a brand new ride "the little mermaid: ariel's undersea adventure"(opening in 2011), I guess the "golden screams" had a grand finale in 2007, but did not appear during halloweentime 2008. So, they destroyed the old "golden dreams" building. Also the other part of the old "golden dreams", the palace of fine arts building will remain during construction. So... yup, the "golden screams"/"golden dreams" is gone. :|

I really liked Golden Dreams and Golden Screams (even if it was corny)...there was something about Upton O. Goode that just cracked me up!

It's sad that I never got a chance to experience either of the Golden Dreams/Screams. I would have liked to see the Halloween version.

I got to experience Golden Dreams and I enjoyed the show. I really liked the fact that I could actually understand the Japanese in the show - one of the few times I used my Japanese I studied in college :? I liked the attraction's main song the best - that is what I usually miss the most after attractions are gone is the music...never got to see Golden Screams - don't think we were ever there over the Halloween holiday.
