Annual Pass Tips

Post by Slimmer Kimmers » Aug Mon 06, 2007 4:17 pm

Does anyone have any special tips for purchasing an annual pass? I think we're already going to buy a park hopper pass first and upgrade. Any other tips we should know about?

Also, do they put your picture on the annual passes? Just curious on how they determine that it's your pass and not someone else's (or do they even care?).

They do have your picture on it, but it's in black and white on the opposite side. They are supposed to check when you go through the turnstyles, and most people do check. When they scan your pass, there's a list of what park you entered and when to help stop people from passing off APs to one another. Some people might ask for ID, it really depends on the person taking your ticket.
If you can plan when to get your pass at all, I'd suggest getting one on a date that's easy to remember or special to you, that way you won't let the expiration date slip by. It's easy to remember if you got your pass on your birthday, or the week after, or a holiday for example. Otherwise, the expiration date might slip by and you'll miss out on going that one extra time. :(

We just did this in July. I wrote about it in my post titled Annual Pass Question. When you do trade up make sure you have used the early entry from your hopper, we did this early on in our trip so we could then use the discounts on food in the park. As for your photo they put it on the back of the AP and also when you go through the turnstile your photo appears on their screen in color so they can easily see if you match. Make sure you have photo ID with you when you purchase your AP. We did it early in the day on the day of our early admission like right after the regular park opening and had no wait. OH yes the last tip I have is make sure you don't ride on space mountain and then go straight in for you photo as I did. You might want to stop and check your hair in the mirror first I sure wish I did :)

Lol! Thanks for that! I'll be sure to remember it. And thanks for the other tips as well. :)
