I went with my little brother on ToT a few years ago when it first opened. i really liked the story line, the scenary of the ride and building, and the queue line. I chickened out many many times, because i don't like that feeling you get when you drop. I finally forced myself on it saying it would only be over in like 30 secs. So i went on it and liked the special effects, but when it came to the drops, the ride kicked my ass. My brother loved the ride except for me squeezing his head on the ride. There was about a fraction of a second where i felt weightless and that was kinda cool. Liked the ride a lot, but because of the extremely bad feeling i get from drops, i probably unfortunately will never ride it again

That's sad to hear. My father-in-law doesn't like drops either and on our visit to WDW two years ago he had no choice but to come onto TOT with us. He thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that we went on it again later that day.

It's unfortunate that Disney has made attractions that not all visitors can go on. They add more thrilling attractions and thus split up the family opposite of what Walt intended. Mission:SPACE is the biggest culprit. There's hundreds of people outside that attraction waiting for family members to ride it. That said, I don't think I'd turn in ToT though. I love it too much. Especially the WDW version.

Does the ride make you queasy or just scared. If you just get scared, then ride it again. You're not going to die? :) Queasy, you're out of luck.

I had heard that they actually did a less intense version of Mission Space for those that aren't able to particpate in the hardcore one. Is this still the case? I think ToT does have a lot of people being too scared, but not so much that it detracts from people's experience. I think in this case, much of themeing and story takes place outside the ride as well as in the qeue, which everyone can experience. I really like how they do the crashing noises, thunder, kid laughter, and screaming on the outside every now and then. It's great to watch a group of people sitting on a bench in the corner suddenly jump up and turn around a little scared :)

Yes it is still the case. They have the Green line, that has no movement, and the Orange that runs at almost full speed 1.8g's. 2.0g's is the full speed, or at least what it opened at.

Righo... the lesser version deactivates the centrifuge which means no spinning (what makes most people sick). You still have the "shakey" movements and tilt, but the lack of actual spinning saves some lunches from premature evacuation. I can't do the spinning, but the no spinning version is no problem.

You should at least try it once. I went on it, and I won't be going again. Same with Screamin'. But you never know - you might love it!

Well it is so nice to hear everyones perspective on this. We are again planning our summer trip and again I am thinking on this. My teen boys really want me to give it a try, it is a little scary that they along with my husband want to be sure to go with me on my first time so they can hear me scream. I remeber my first trip on Screamin' I screamed so much and my son sat next to me laughing so hard (that actually made it a fun and memorable experience), in the end I had so much fun and can't wait to ride it again. Maybe the same will be true for TOT if I can just get on the thing. :)

Really, the deciding factor should be... Do you get sick for a long period after wards? If the answer is no, then go on it. You're not going to die, the worst thing that can happen is you perhaps you get so scared you faint. Whatever happens, it'll make for a great story sometime! DO IT. You're not going to die.

The Tower of Terror is a good ride (better in WDW, but we wont to there, lol). It is quick, gives you a great view of the park, and it actually is alot of fun. - blue

I did it just for the Theming, its so intricate and full of Twilight Zone kick-backs...

Plus you sometimes get the Haunted Mansion effect with the cast-members, which is a ton of fun.

Its a little bumpity, but if you get over it quick, its a must. :)

Way to Go!! I'm glad that you did it and enjoyed yourself.
It's not one of my favorites, but I do ride it every time we go.
(I actually prefer the WDW version to the one at CA, but they are both wonderful)
