Does anybody know how it works with trading up park hopper tickets to annual passes? We want to get annual passes but are wondering if it is better to buy park hoppers first and trade up or just to get the AP to begin with.

Trading up to AP's is actually quite easy. It is better to buy the hoppers first, usually, because on hoppers there are no blackout days. If you were to buy the AP's right away you might be limited by blackout days. On the last day of your parkhopper tickets, visit the bank on main street and upgrade your tickets. The expiration date on your AP will prorate back to the first day of the use of the hoppers, however, and not the day you upgraded.

The pricing will be the exact same, whichever route you go. Shinku had the correct idea with getting the park hopper so that you can enjoy the park on any day you'd like if you're planning on getting a non-Premium passport. Good luck, and enjoy it (I sure miss mine)!

For anybody that might be thinking about doing this here is how it worked out for us....We bought the 4day hopper and went right in the park on Sunday of our trip then on the Monday we used the early entry and then traded our hopper for the Deluxe AP then we were able to use it for discounts on meals in the park. We found that we saved around $40.00 total for our meals. Now we are planning our second trip for this summer and don't have to figure in the ticket price.

I have another question, regarding the AP benifit of priority seating. I am just wondering exactly what that get's you. Is it a must for getting into the Blue Bayou? I am trying to decide if I need priority seating and if I should call before I leave home. Any help would be appreciated.

I would just call before now to make your reservation (it fills up fast). I only have the Deluxe AP and I have no idea if I get priority seating (never needed to use it). The good thing is that you get 10% off most restaurants, with the Deluxe, or 15% off with the Premium. In my opinion the Premium isn't worth it to get since the Deluxe gives you 315 day access and costs $120 less.
