Oscar is this little old hispanic chef that works at the Carnation Cafe on Main Street. It seems like he is there everyday. He walks around and asks how you doing and how the food is. He is Disneyland's longest working Cast Member. He started working there a year or so after the park opened and he is still working to this day! For Disneyland's 50th the company sent him and his family on a Disney Cruise :mickey:

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!! OSCAR RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I have a picture of him around here somewhere. He really is the nicest guy, and funny too, he plays around with the kids. I make it a point to go there everyday and say hi for the entire trip. He always remembers me because he sees me so many times now. Last year I asked a Guest services about writing a letter of praise. They don't have an easy form for that, but they have plenty for complaints. How messed up is that?

Is Carnation Cafe the one sorta in the middle of Main Street? If so, then I think I might have met his acquaintance. I had no idea he's Disneyland's longest working CM. Wow...

Yeah, I found out that Tom Ravenscroft quit recently, he was working in attractions since the park opened. I guess Oscar is the new, oldest, CM. :)

I never heard of Tom Ravenscroft? He was just always working in attractions? Anyone know about Ron Miller the piano player on Main Street? He has been working there for a long time as well i believe :mickey:

I'd like to remind everybody, when at a park and a CM does something nice, take the time anf stop by to write out a happy gram. These people go above and beyond because they love Disney!! Not because they love what the company has done for them. I know some long term CM's and believe me the management is always looking for a reason to get on them. Please if a CM does something nice (and they do!!). Remember who they are and give them a good report. If nothing else, it will make their day!!

I'm picking this up from the second, newer Carnation Cafe thread:
Dr. Ravenscroft wrote: I think I have a picture of the Menu somewhere on my computer. I will find it and add it to this post later. I have had everything on the newest menu at least twice. Personally I love it all, the Smoked Turkey sandwich is my favorite, followed by the Croissant Chicken Club.
That happens to be exactly what my wife and I had when we went! Both of our dishes were great, and the sides were wonderful too.

I am hoping to get to DL in June (2008). If he isn't retiring maybe he will be there and I can look for him.

Just ask next time. Oscar is usually happy to come out and say hi.
