Just watching reruns of the A-Team on TV Land [man, what a classic show] and Murdock was talking about Mr. Toad and the railroad tunnel effect. After he recreated it of course to scare the life out of the bad guy. So it would be more like Mr. Toad meets Murdock [and Mr. T, Hannibal, and Faceman but you get the idea]. Just another sign of how much of a cult following Mr. Toad has...

I dream of being able to marathon Mr. Toad without having to wait in line. How awesome that they referenced it in the A-Team, I might have to look for that episode.

I love Mr. Toad and Mr. T! What a blast. I still wish they'd kept Toady in Disney World, but that's a different story. He has a cult following indeed!

DISNEYman, you can go on Mr. Toad all you want with no line if you stay at a Disney Hotel and go for the early entry. Wait, I just saw you're from Orange County. Well, it still might be worth it for a special experience!

I don't know about that Mr. Toad ride... the character is great, but the ride? come on, for cryin' out loud, you go to HELL, in a Disney park?! Is that right?

I think that's what makes the ride so special, though, to some people. I mean, nobody expect to go to Hell in the middle of Fantasyland. Really. It's strange and unexpected, and some people like that.
Also, Disney covers a wide variety of story types and emotions and intensity(Indiana Jones, Tower of Terror... Alien Encounter, anybody? I know that one was WDW but still) Actually, Mr. Toad seems like a step DOWN from some rides.

No, I do agree with your points on the other rides mentioned, but that is what's expected out of them. As an unknowing parent, and being placed in "Fantasyland" where most of the rides are storybook based and geared toward small children, you would not think that "Hey let's take the Mr. Toads Wild Ride to HELL," to be along the same theme. I of course am NOT an unknowing parent and still chose to take my 1year old on the ride, because I don't feel she's frightened or surprised with such things. But a good, wholesome Christian, may not appreciate the ride as we would.

I was surprised by the "heat-treatment" of the Wild Ride my first time on it, too, and I'll have to agree about train hitting me. I mean I'm in college and I was still afraid the train was going to hit me. Whoops...

Anyway, I think they should bring Mr. Toad back to WDW in Animal Kingdom since most of the characters are animals anyway. They could gut Dinosaur and make it a truly Wild Ride! Then again they could always introduce it as a fantasy ride for their Fantasy section.

you know of the "hidden Mr. Toad" at the Haunted Mansion at WDW? I pointed it out to both Dr. Ravenscroft and knedeau when we were all down there in December. I think Dr. ravenscroft got a picture of it...

What's this? I've never heard of that - how thrilling. I've only seen the Mr. Toad shaking hands with Owl in the Pooh ride (rather reminds me of him handing over the title to those weasels).

Edit: Wait, I just remembered. Isn't his statue in the pet graveyard outside the ride? I saw that last time I was there and got so excited!

that it is. it's up in the upper left corner of the pet cemetary near the exit of the ride. it freaked me out the first time I saw it and had to do a double take to make sure what I was seeing was really there.
