Year of a million dreams prizes

I am just curious if any of you have received a "Dreams" prize. My wife and I were sitting on a bench near the Sun Wheel waiting for the kids and a sweeper gave us a special "Dreams" pin with Tinkerbell on it. It was kinda cool because we were exhausted and kinda worn-out. It was just a 'bump in the magic" for us. What about you?

We CAN'T WAIT for something like that to happen! We're going in December (me, fiancee, future in-laws) and will be in the parks the 8th, 9th, and 10th... Will be sure to report back (and hoping to actually write a real trip report... and not just talk about doing one... this time.)

I was down there for about a week and I saw a few of them being given out. It seems they are looking for specific situations. Like one CM was looking for a mother waiting for her family at Mission Space. The CM was just walking around talking to women sitting around the area then she found one and they, when the husband and kid came out of the ride, got free food or a gift certificate or something like that.

I hear they are having a lot of trouble giving the biggies away since most folks have not heard a thing about the promotion [really - outside of the Disney fansites has there even been any real promotional advertising?]. I guess folks think it is a scam - like "take this shipping spree then you have to sign up for DVC" or something like that. Kind of an odd twist - but more stuff for the rest of us I guess!

Well G2-4T, if I knew what a "shipping spree" was it would help. Who would want to win one of those?
Ok, so I know really meant shopping spree. All joking aside, that's pretty sad! Disney should make people aware that they could win something big no strings attached. They need a better advertising campaign for this one.

I have seen the commercials in this area and they say nothing specific like visit any Disney park and you can win a prize just for showing up. If they did more people would want to go down to WDW and out to DL. The commercials just talk about celebrating the Year of a Million Dreams, which to anyone other than a Disney fan means zip.
They do need to emphasize what type of prizes they could win if they show up.

Nope, haven't gotten anything, while I was in DLR.

When I was at Disneyland on December 20th, 2006, I was a recipient of a Dream Fastpass as I was coming off the exit of Splash Mountain, it was a total and utterly awesome surprise to get. Although the park was not overly crowded (as it was a Wednesday) so I ended up using only about a quarter of the fastpasses since none of the rides had a wait of more than 20 mins

I got a pin lanyard with a couple pins on it. That's all I've gotten so far. I'm wanting the Dream Fastpass.

Did you do anything special to win these magical prizes? I was just in Disney World with my family and sadly we didn't win a thing. We thought up a whole bunch of schemes to make cast members notice us more, but didn't put any into practice!

I'm 99% sure that whenever prizes are given out, they are completely spontaneous. My advice is just to enjoy the parks, and who knows, maybe a few smiles might garner a prize or two! A friend of mine took her friends from college to Disneyland, and they all got Dream Fastpasses just by walking through the parks.

it's all random. The Dream Squad has instructions to look for things like "Next person wearing a hat" or "Next kid with a Mickey shirt". do things to make them notice you won;t help the chances.

I got the cloud ears, dreams lanyard with two pins, and a complimentary "living fastpass" (Dream Squad escorted us into Rockin' without waiting in the 1 hour line! We just got on!).

My aunt got a dream fastpass, which was pretty cool, but I'm guessing they are waiting to give me the night in Cinderella's castle, that's why I haven't got anything yet. Here's to hope, and a little magic wouldn't hurt either!

We saw a family of four get pulled out of the crowd waiting for the afternoon parade and they were then placed in the old-fasioned car and were the lead vehicle when the parade came down main street. They all had special Mickey ears hats and buttons.
