We are going to Disneyland in August. Has anyone eaten at Ariel's Grotto?
We are thinking about booking reservations and taking our 7 year old daughter. I was wondering if this is a place anyone could reccomend?
Thanks alot for your help!

The food (kid's choices) is so-so. The octopus hotdog is fun if your kid's like hotdogs. I've heard that they have changed the format of the character appearances. The last time we were there (14 mo. ago), Ariel did not show up and Goofy, Max, Chip & Dale were the only characters to appear. The best character experience and food that we have found at the Disneyland Resort is Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, but it is much pricier than the Grotto.
If you DO decide to go to Ariel's Grotto, have them seat you outside (if it's not too hot). The view is much more fun and the characters come out there as well. Hope that helps!

I have heard that, ironically, Ariel is not one of the main characters in rotation, so a little girl who's in love with Ariel might have better luck seeing her in Disneyland than in her own restaurant.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Hey thanks for the advice! I did find out its princess themed right now. I guess the princesses Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty and Snow white are going to be there talking about how to be a princess. So Im sure my daughter will love it. And thanks for the advice on the hotdog!

Isn't Ariel still technically considered a princess even though she really doesn't carry the title around with her all the time?
Sometimes the bluest part of the sky seems so far away from us, I guess thats what keeps us striving for it...

I have heard to her reffered to as, Disney's Mer-Princess in fact on the Disneyland website under California Adventure dining, at Ariels Grotto they call her Disney's favorite Mer-princess. So I think she is considered one and hey, she did marry prince Eric. That should surely make her a princess.
