Hi folks:

Just wondering if any of the listeners collect items from early Disneyland (during the period from the Park's opening to about the early 1970s). I'm talking strictly about Disneyland in California, not WDW or the other Parks.

Anybody haunting eBay or the NFFC conventions for old Park trinkets: paper items (maps, tickets, flyers, etc), jewelry, toys, items from long-gone attractions, or historical pieces of the Park?

If so, do you have a specialty? A penchant for a particular land, maybe?

I have a large stack of old unused tickets. Don't know much about them though...

My favorite place to go to look at Disneyland memorabilia is that wall at the Disneyland Hotel. I think it's near the main lobby area. A whole wall full of really cool stuff from ages past.

I have several wall maps of disneyland, the earliest ones are 58, 68 and 78.

Everywhere in the DL Hotel there is great old memorabila! All the lobbies have classic concept art and more, I would love to take some of that home with me

I used to have one of those wind up Prince Charming and Cinderella waltzing toys, but when my Grandmother passed (RIP) in got caught in the whole estate thing and I never got it. I used to love that toy for the simple fact that it represented all the best parts of my childhood rolled up in one easy to wind package.

I wish I had some old ride posters. The Tomorrowland ones are particularly cool, IMHO.

You can order them at the Disney Gallery. You can get them in large sizes. My woman and I have thought about decorating a room with those. I love them. Especially the Space Mountain one. It's about 50 dollars for an unframed 2.5' x 4' poster on art paper.

I didn't know that! Thanks! I think my favorite is the monorail...

Speaking of the Disney Gallery art prints, you don't even have to go in the park to get them anymore! In the World Of Disney store in downtown disney they've recently installed the same machines in the room with the big figs and watches and art and such so you can get them printed on demand without having to buy a shopping pass and entering the park.

Edit: I should clarify this is at the disneyland park, I can't speak for WDW. ^-^"

Do you mean they print them out for you -- right then??

Can they be purchased online?

I saw this a few years ago, but they were selling it piece by piece. The letters, then the flags etc.
Wouldn't that be nice, you have Disneyland in your backyard (well, atleast the sign)

I had no idea it was so large! At 13 feet six inches high, you'd need a fairly huge place to put those letters!
