I've heard some rumors that Haunted Mansion is undergoing some changes in the attic scene. Anyone seen this recently?

Yep. Their covering up stuff with white bags right now. The bride looks like she's holding a (quote) stale churro. (end quote) Shes supposed to hold an axe sooner or later and theres supposed to be pictures of her groom's heads and they dissapear when you pass them.

I was there on April 7th and the attic was pretty empty, the only new thing I noticed was some weird mens voices making statements like "I do", or "I know".

Oh and the old squiggle line drawing from the Leota room was gone.

I'm still amazed at the fact tehre were able to get Leota's head to float....

I'll be interested to see what they do, has to be better than the abomination that Pirates of the Carribbean is becoming......

That's been there for years... the pop-up ghosts say them. But their gone now.

As for changes, they are giving the bride a more sinster part to play. What I've been hearing is that in Leota's room you are supposed to see faces of men appearing and disappearing, then as you get into the attic you see them again in paintings and like the dueling portraits they are supposed to appear from the paintings.

The Bride is now a woman who marries men and killed them for money, and supposedly they hanging corpse is her recent victim whom she never married becasue he found out and offed himself.

They are moving the bride, she's going to have a holographic face and she talks. Some people have recorded her voice, and she's going to hold an axe.

And rumors have been floating around that the Hatbox Ghost would be back but that's a dream.

This is for a ride at a family-style theme park??!!

To be fair we should wait until the effects have been added before trying to pass judgement. Everything that has been suggested as what will be changed are from leaked information and should be accepted as rumors until its done.

It doesn't sound like it will be gory, just a ghostly bride holding a hatchet. I personally would have been more scared of that bony shacking dog and old guy in the graveyard

Yeah -- I think the attic scene has always been a low point, so I'm ok with them changing that. I am worried about the Mansion becoming too scary for little kids though.

Me too. I mean, a darkened room with a bride staring at you holding an axe?

Disney scary and Hollywood scary are totally different. Best if you use wise judgement, go on it first by yourself then if you feel like your kids can handle it then take them on it. My son was never frightened even when he was around 7 or 8 but we had to have dad go on a few first before we knew for sure if Tye could handle it. He thought Star Tours would scare him, so he didn't want to go on it, he had mom (me) go, it was awesome so when I came out and told him it wouldn't scare him, he went on it, he was hesitant but then I never thought we'd get him off of it, we must've ridden it 5 times in a row. I know its different from the Haunted Mansion cause it is dark in there, but he didn't seem to mind it, he was squished inbetween his dad and I, so that gave him a sense of safety as well. It's always best to use your better judgement. I see young kids at movies in the theater that I would NEVER have taken my youngster too. And to me Hollywood scary is way scarier than Disney scary. That's just my honest opinion though.

Totally the right way to do this. Just like having your kids watch a movie -- probably best to take a peek at it first, just to make sure you feel your kids can handle the content.
