Walt on Pirates of the Caribbean

I came across a piece of trivia today. Apparantly one fo the Pirates on POTC has Walt Disney's face. It seems the likeness was taken from the same life cast mold used to make the statue in the central square.

Does anyone have a picture of this Pirate or know of one online?

as far as I've heard, in all the ride, there is only 1 pirate whose face is a likeness of an actual person. that figure is the whistling pirate in the jail scene. He was modeled after a janitor who cleaned the floors at the animation studios.

Maybe. It's a pretty interesting encyclopedia, but still.

Wikipedia could absolutely be wrong... it's edited by regular people, who make mistakes (occasionally intentionally)... however, js3901 is wrong, if I recall... many of the pirates were modeled after Imagineers, and one of the pirates reaching for the dog in the jail scene is the likeness of none other than close friend of Walt's and famous funny man, Sid Caeser.

* caveat: this is true, at least, for the DL version. I assume that means it's the same case for the WDW, as so many of the pirate audioanimatronics are replicas of the Anaheim ride. I will confirm in 6 days ;-)

It's the one being chased by the woman in the last chase scene. I've seen it.

well, that's what I had heard from cast members at WDW. They could have been mistaken as well, as the one I was talking to seemed a bit new. It could also be the fact that WDW and DL are different in set up, and also slightly different animatronics...
