2005 Holiday Season stuff

Post by slotofkit » Nov Sat 12, 2005 3:44 am

So I just came back from the park at the end of their unveiling of the holiday decorations. They added the snow effect at the end of the Remember fireworks show. Although somebody didn't quite mix the suds right and we were overwhelmed by them. And I do mean overwhelmed. There is also a new effect on Small World that happens after the clock sequence. They have projectors that do a little sequence that fits near perfect to every little block and piece of the facade. Everytime it was shown people clapped. And, of course there is the more golden Christmas tree this year.

OMG, that's a riot. It reminds me of that old Brady Bunch episode where they put too much soap in the washing machine and flooded the place out.

What is the more golden tree? Do you have any pictures?

It did seem like that Brady Bunch episode. It was definitely fun and neat looking, though. Everyone was laughing. My friend took some pictures and hopefully will send them to me. I did get some video of the new Small World "show" and the fireworks with the snow. I am going to try to get them on a site ASAP.

Okay, this means it's definitely time for me to go to Disneyland again.

I very much agree. I miss the soap snow.

Here is the video I took. I apologize for the quality and possibly slow transfer speeds. I just wanted to get it up as soon as I could.

I went to DCA on friday to go and see the tree lighting ceremony right across from the Paradise Pier entrance and I have to admit I was kinda disappointed with it. The tree is 30 feet tall (not as large/tall as the tree at Disneyland) and for the lighting, there were some parts that were not lighted on the tree. Also, the time they chose wasnt ideal because the lighting ceremony wasnt as dramatic as it could have been since it was still pretty bright outside, but when it did get dark the park looked really nice. So all in all, I thougth it was alright. I'd still go just because it's a bit more intimate since not that many ppl know about it since it wasnt really advertised. :)

Yeah I really like the holiday fireworks as well. I'm just excited to see all the Christmas decorations!

Santa's Reindeer Roundup is at BTM Ranch. It's the Santa meet and greet with a pen of reindeer to stare at. It's fairly well done. Fairly strange too as there are random shows on a stage in the back (not the Festival stage). I saw everything from a small "Riders in the Sky" type band to a gal with a marionette puppet. But the actual Santa and reindeer portion turned out well.
