This isn't new policy, but more like a recent renewal of commitment to enforce existing policy. Several sites are stating people will no longer be permitted to lay down blankets, strollers, etc. to stake out their claim to a good viewing spot before the ropes are put up by CM's.

That sounds like a good plan ~ hopefully they stick with trying to enforce it. No fun trying to dodge sitters and blankets and other place holders for hours before a parade.
