Wow. That was a very well-written essay. The unfortunate thing is the reality of the situation. You can't do anything about it. People are going to try and break the rules in Disneyland to see if they can get away with it. And those people are the ones who get hurt, or worse, on rides because they deliberately disobey the rules.

Alright so heres my take on that essay because see I'm still a teenager yes but I will say this... I don't understand how kids my age can act that way. That's just disturbing. I guess I have a Classic Disney mentality and respect for what those symbols mean cause I grew up with them as a kid. I don't know I just feel like Disney is supposed to be " The Happiest Place on Earth" when things like that happen it just makes me want to lose it in the park just as the author seemed to have those moments, but normally I have my gf around me and I don't want to cause a scene trying to tell someone else's kid or another guy my age to stop being an idiot and vandalizing. I just think it's a matter of the fact that you have to be born with that respect for the park you know? If you're kids grow up learning the magic of Disney early by the time they reach their immature teenage years they will have more respect for the park when they enter... that's what I'm going to do with my kids. Start them early on the old classic stuff I grew up on... teach them the history of the park so they can respect and enjoy the magic.

I have seen a few things that disturbed me in the park and it has drove me nuts as I walk from say DL to DCA... knowing that those individuals did that. I'll give you an example so I'm in Indiana Jones right and this group of teenagers about my age or younger decides they don't see their party anymore so half of them are going to leave to go find them.. they jump over railings and all this other crap truly disrespecting the decorations and the time it took to build such a place... and what p*** me off even more was that after they did find the rest of their party they insisted on doing it again and literally hoping over the railings to get back in line in their original spots... is it me or does my generation seem to be losing its moral code??? Seriously I feel like half the teenagers I look at in the parks end up doing stupid stuff and don't get caught for it... sheesh sorry that's my rant... glad I read this :) Thanks to whoever posted it cause it allows me to get out all the frustrations I have from some of my park visits... PS I tend to keep my blinders on too totally works and besides your there to enjoy the magic... not worry about the immaturities of others.

A few friends and I have come up with a system that I think would make the parks more enjoyable for everyone.

1- Anyone under the age of 10 will be allowed to enter with an adult
2- No one from age 10-18 will be allowed in the parks what so ever
3- A strict application process (similar to gun control with a background check and 3 day waiting period) would be in place for anyone 18 or older
4- Anyone accompanying children who's children are misbehaving will be held accountable and ejected
5- Failure to follow rules yourself would be immediate ejection

Sure there would only be several hundred people in the park evreyday instead of the many thousand.

But there would be shorter lines and happier people

:) Ha ha.

Well, with rule number 2 it might just defeat the purpose of Disneyland in the first place.

Good thing I'm planned for a trip to Disney World and not Disneyland. I won't have to worry about those things :P

See, this is the exact reason that I am a self proclaimed "people hater". I get so annoyed that people just dont care about destroying property that does not belong to them. My husband and I saw a little brat in WDW, writing on the wall in the Buzz queue with a marker and peeling off the paint while the parents sat there totally oblivious to what there little monster of a child was doing. I think that if they get caught vandalizing, peeing or being totally disruptive they should be forced to leave. They should be walked out by security in front of everyone else whom is trying to enjoy their Disney day without such stupid people around them.

That would be good but then Disney would be worried about if they are going to get sued or something if they were to do that. Now I'm with you on this, I would love to see more folks get kicked out of the parks ( some on a permanent basis) for the acts they commit. They could even have them kicked off property if the Violation was egregious enough.

How miserable! :(

Thank goodness I have never seen anything this horrendous. I hope nothing like this will ever happen again! (Wishful thinking...)

I've seen some of these steady decreases in morality in the last few years the OP speaks of. It's really saddening and upsets me because when I'm in Disneyland I feel like it's my second home, and I don't like when people interfere with my escape from reality. Sometimes I debate taking things into my own hands when I'm in that situation....

It was wishful thinking... Just today on a school field trip to the Magic Kingdom, some of the kids from my school were laughing about how they made other people really angry and miserable on the Haunted Mansion and ruining their ride. It made me sick! It wasn't as bad as this was, but STILL!

Hey, hey, hey! I FIT IN THAT CATEGORY!

I understand your point, but if you think about it, only 1% of kids do this bad stuff. There just really loud and obnoxious. There were only 2 people in our group that did that above, and everyone else was well-behaved. I think that if any cast member sees this garbage they should take action instead of just looking the other way. For the stuff they don't see, guests should report it so they can fix the damage, and if they can catch the kid, toss him out.

I hate when people get the Special Assistance pass when they don't even need it, so they won't have to wait in line. I also hate when people always taking pictures on Pirates Of The Caribbean

I will admit that I do hate people a lot in Disneyland. I hate when people smoke in the non-designated areas (aka walking through the park while smoking), I hate when they do flash pictures on Haunted Mansion and/or Pirates of the Caribbean, I hate how people just throw their trash on the ground or in the bushes like it's their own home. I have a lot more hate on this topic but this is good for now.
