Well, if they want some water they could go to Grizzly River Run but it is something else seeing Splash closed.

I try to avoid DLR when it's hot and crowded out, but does GRR get an actual line/longer than 5 minutes during the summer? It's a well done rapids ride but no one wants to ride it.

Why doesn't anyone want to ride it?Wizzard419 wrote:I try to avoid DLR when it's hot and crowded out, but does GRR get an actual line/longer than 5 minutes during the summer? It's a well done rapids ride but no one wants to ride it.

It gets longer than five minutes in the summer. Most of the time it's either 60 minutes or so and I like to ride it. It's pretty popular even when it's cold or at night.Wizzard419 wrote:I try to avoid DLR when it's hot and crowded out, but does GRR get an actual line/longer than 5 minutes during the summer? Seriously? When I go by after the occasional lunch it always looks empty.

It depends on the crowd level in the parks. Some people tend to skip it depending on if it's cold or hot.Wizzard419 wrote:Seriously? When I go by after the occasional lunch it always looks empty.

I wanted to when I went a few years back, but it was closed for rehab/refurb/whatever so I didn't get to ride it. It was raining all day, so it wasn't like I was worried about getting any more wet...Amy wrote:Why doesn't anyone want to ride it?Wizzard419 wrote:I try to avoid DLR when it's hot and crowded out, but does GRR get an actual line/longer than 5 minutes during the summer? I think the one reason people may stay away (at least during the off season) is that you will get soaked on it.

I know when I went to US's IoA I wore Under Armour's loose-fit shirt that quick dries. In my group, I was dried out in less than half an hour while they were still wet after an hour. And US's IoA the Popeye ride is the same type as GRR, so it is a super-soaker raft ride too.Wizzard419 wrote:I think the one reason people may stay away (at least during the off season) is that you will get soaked on it.

I know that Universal Studios Hollywood has a dryer that can dry your entire body but it's for five dollars.

I might try that since that's what I wear at the gym.
One thing I really hate about florida is that it's just so humid that nothing feels dry until you're back home.

When you live here, you get used to the humidity (that is, you stay inside where it's air conditioned during the worse of the summer)...Wizzard419 wrote:I might try that since that's what I wear at the gym.mindflipper wrote:I know when I went to US's IoA I wore Under Armour's loose-fit shirt that quick dries. Same here, when it's hot out everyone just goes inside and turns the AC on.

Ok, this question was answered for me in another MiceChat update (the barricades were indeed set up for the addition of the electrical outlets...but I have a new question now for those who have seen the new marquee. It says it shows photos of guests in the parks. Are these on some sort of LCD screens so there are new pictures all the time, or is it the same photos all the time?Amy wrote:Amy wrote:Is that why they had those barricades out there this past week as shown in the MiceChat update photos?Wizzard419 wrote:Yep, the whole thing is connected to a power outlet in the ground and the inside of the letters rotate (like at the Tomorrowland train station) to change the picture.

Nope, just printed onto the turning pieces. If they were LCD screens then there wouldn't be a need for a turning mechanism.
