...My family did a soft opening test of Mission Space. I will say they counted the number of visitors to the garbage can following each cycle. When it finally opened, the attraction was tamed down.

I'm guessing you and your family all made it safely to Mars and back without visiting the garbage can on the way out?!

Yep, the whole thing is connected to a power outlet in the ground and the inside of the letters rotate (like at the Tomorrowland train station) to change the picture.

The thing is on wheels, so I don't think any construction was required, but if they had to put down a power outlet then it would justify it, but I think the outlets were there in the first place.

With the winds we've been having I was hoping to see it fall over.

That's the first thing I thought of too. It almost gave me chills.

I think I remember it sold for over $17,000, and that did not include the $10,000+ shipping as well. I wonder who would spend $27,000+ for that sign and what did they do with it?

Well, that's exactly what the sign is trying to emmulate. Whenever they want to go for the memory path they always pull out the sign shape (look at the 55th stuff).
