No, but it sounds like a great idea for Apple's marketing people to see about as a new feature for the next Smartphone upgrade!
I think origami is more Japanese than Chinese

Well, I think they both claim it...but we digress...the new DCA map rendering looks pretty nice

I dunno, Amy - but I think you just came up with a brand new entry for the Subictionary!

Wow that is a long rehab for Splash. I wonder if there was something that called for an extended period? I guess we can only speculate. I am extremely excited with all the progress I have seen on Ariel's Undersea Adventure. I am definitely looking forward to riding this attraction either at WDW or in California Adventure.
As for the repaving of Main Street.... somebody didn't do their homework. Disney tends to usually be pretty good at planning out how things will work with the construction. Seems like they didn't figure it out this time.

Especially after the fiasco back on its opening day in 1955 when women's high heels were getting stuck in the street, you would think Disney would be far more cautious about paving Main Street from then on...

I was reading how the last time the did a refurb, they added loading gates to keep visitors safe while waiting to board their log. But unfortunately the gates and log seating didn't line up correctly which resulted in lots of confusion for both guests and CM's. So apparently they are going to fix that during the rehab this time...
I have a question about the street paving in DL...you see these boxes placed over the tracks where they are working on them. Does the construction work get done at night when the park is closed and then they move the boxes into position or do they actually work in them during the day? The boxes seem sort of low and it seems like it would be very warm working inside of them so I really think they are just covering the work area, but am curious if anyone knows for sure....

Splash and Materhorn always have really long rehabs compared to all the other rides, even if nothing new is added.
I don't think it would be fair to say they didn't do their homework since this is classically the slowest time of year. It's just that nice weather made people want to come in more.

I don't know for sure but I'm thinking the same thing. Then again, now that I think about it, here in WDW, when they redo pavement, they block it off with temporary stanchions and ropes
For those that don't know what a stanchion is, it's the metal poles you see CM's set up before and take down after the parades.

They used those at DCA when they were installing the Red Car tracks, I think the reason they are covered is because this is normally the time of year we get rain as well.
Because of the off weather patterns this year construction everywhere (in so cal) got thrown off.

My guess is that they start to work on it when the parks are closed because I didn't see anyone working on them when I went yesterday.

Well, it kind of looks like those are open-ish grids so there would be light and air in them?! But they just seem awfully low to the ground to have anyone working in them. But they look pretty massive to be moved each night too!

Not if you have a fork lift or just several strong guys.
If i recall, they used those at DCA when they were putting in the tracks for the red car as well. They did some construction during the day between Tower of Terror and Hyperion theater and it was loud enough, just imagine 50 yards of noise.
