Indeed, that was a bit of a beta test though since they did exit interviews after riding. It's a shame that they never took it further with the whole planned night time change over. I'm guessing the masses didn't approve of the changes.

I would have liked it better without the strobe lights inside the ride. That was what killed the whole point of being in space.

I was at the parks on Sept 17th this past weekend for the opening of the HMH and the line was crazy! It was 50 min the entire time I was there.

Opening weekend is always killer. The one thing that baffled me last year was the opening for Ghost Galaxy, if I went during the week it would still be packed.

Wasn't last year the first year for Ghosy Galaxy? That would explain the popularity...

In reading the article, I can't believe that people are complaining because there were no changes to Ghost Galaxy this year. Last year was the first year for goodness sake! Are people that bored with the (2 month) overlay already????? I guess that goes to show that there are people out there who just can't be pleased.

darn right we can't be pleased! :D

But anyway, technically it's a 3+ year old overlay since it's a direct copy of HK Disneyland's

Anyway, the odd thing was that when GG first launched the crowds were normal on weekdays. Then word of mouth really started to spread it and you could have hour + waits on a weekday in October.

True...but how many Californians have actually been to HKDL during Halloween time prior to DL's version?

I don't think they really need to add any changes to it. It's only there for two months so they really shouldn't complain about it.

Also, please be aware that even HKDL had tweaked Ghost Galaxy a few times when the overlay returned, so DL could do so too if they wanted. Maybe they will study it during this year to figure how they wish to change it next year?

The people on Mice Chat often complain about anything and everything. Sometimes it is good most of the time it is annoying. Also Disney has realized that the California parks need the most updates since the locals are the bulk of the business and they are fickle. If something isn't slightly different each time they go they are upset and may not come back for a while, so they have to update quite a bit. In Florida it is the opposite, they get more business from non-locals and they will come back no matter what, and most of those people want to see the stuff they saw last time.

I will get to see the Holiday Haunted Mansion soon and I can't wait to play in it (meaning photographing it)

That is the exact reason why I don't participate on MC often. I get stressed out just reading through the forums!

It really bothers me that it's come down to this....it didn't used to be this way 10-15 years ago. I remember when we used to have APs and going 3-4 times a year (sometimes more) for a day or two was economical for us, but in recent years, the prices have skyrocketed and are now only economical for those who actually live there. Seeing how TDA has given into the "local complaints" have really changed many views of the parks for us. I'm sad to say, it doesn't feel the same to us anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love that there are little changes from time to time (like the HMH annual changes, landscape, painting, small atmospheric changes)...but just hearing folks complain that GG wasn't changed at all from last year (the first year it premiered in the U.S.), even though it was only there for 2 months, really irks me. We only got to go on it once and we thought it was fine the way it was and we're bummed that we won't get to go this year.

Sorry, I'm off the soap box...who's next?

BTW Doc, looking forward to your pics! :D

Ya I'm not a fan of Ghost Galaxy. It was ok but the music in our car didn't work right and the projections were kinda Lame. it was at 65 all night on the 17th!

Someone was talking about the halloween changes today at lunch and apparently they changed the last projection on GG from a still to a short video and something about leota being now a head in a jar rather than a crystal ball.
