Looks like a great place for skaters right now, I bet they would LOVE to get in there with their boards

That's what I said too! Now if only I were a skateboarder, I would go there in a flash.

They won't be done by the time DL5 happens. I'm sure the Sun Wheel won't be open until later in 2009. Majority of the rides will probably be completed in 2010-2012.

Then there is a supposed second 1 billion dollar overhaul happening in 2013. At least that's what the head of the park said in an interview a few weeks ago.

It's nice to see them reworking all this stuff, but the theme still just fails to interest me in the slightest. When you think of the wide range of themes (at least in terms of potential) in the other parks, limiting the concept to one state in one nation is just so pedestrian and dull.

Some progress on the Sun Wheel has occurred aside from the scaffolding. It's being painted red! The back part of the sun is being painted a yellow color while the railings that held the gondolas and the outer area are being painted red. It looks exciting so far and I managed to get two pictures. I would have gotten more but it was such a crowded day that it was difficult.

Thanks so much for the update and photo's. It is much appreciated by those of us that don't live close enough to watch this transformation happen. I hope we can look forward to more updates with photos from you in the future.

I'll be sure to update as much as I can. Yesterday we renewed our APs so maybe there will be another update in January. Keep an eye out!

Yup yup keep up with the updates Missy... I can't wait for all the changes to be complete... I went to DCA right after it opened and was kinda disappointed (except for GRR)... was better when ToT opened, but Carsland is what I want to see what they do with

Im glad to see that they will be adding some dark rides to DCA (Little Mermaid Ride), but I wish that they would not put too much ephasis on the Pixar movies or Pixar themed lands. I just wonder sometimes if the Pixar movies will stand the test of time the way that the Disney Classics have. Anywhoo....., just a thought

Thanks for the picture updates! It's fun to see the construction in progress and for me anyhow, the theme beginning to take shape.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

DCA seemed pretty lame to us when we went last year! We didnt care for the boardwalk carnival idea! The major rides were great!!
