Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
It makes sense. It seems DCA is becoming less "California" and more "Hollywood". If not the "Disneyland Hollywood Studios", maybe "Disney Pixar Hollywood Studios" or some various thereof. After the backlash they got from announcing the removal of Mr. Toad from WDW MK, Disney now tries to minimize potentially bad park press while they push heavily positive park press (DCA expansion, the WDW MK Fantasyland Expansion, Star Tours 2.0, etc.). Maybe they believe changing DCA's name could have a backlash. IMHO I don't care either way.

Well, they already dropped the 's from Disney('s) California Adventure which seems odd, so I suppose they could be holding off announcing a name change until the transition is complete. We will have to wait and see...mindflipper wrote:It makes sense. It seems DCA is becoming less "California" and more "Hollywood". I'm guessing they probably aren't going to do a name change like "Hollwood Studios" since the theme is supposed to be him arriving in California. If they do a name change, they will probably do it like EuroDisney did when they became Disneyland Paris, something similar. Possibly Walt Disney's California Adventure or something like that.

As far as I know, they don't have any other plans for another big rename but I wouldn't mind Walt Disney's California Adventure.

We were there for lunch today, did I miss an update about the WOC platforms being fixed? They were underwater today, so they were either fixed or the massive rainfall raised the water level of the lagoon.

Let's hope they finally got those platforms fixed!

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
We wanted liquor (bi-monthly lunch meeting) so we went to house of blues followed by a ride on CS and ToT. I should have taken a pic of it, the one that was stuck in the up position was actually below the surface and the other 2 were slightly raised but you could not see the platform.
Also, apparently our weeks of rain must have been bad for the ElecTRONica stuff since they had to put the bubbles over the lights to protect them.

That is nice that you are close enough to have Disneyland as an option for lunchWizzard419 wrote:We wanted liquor (bi-monthly lunch meeting) so we went to house of blues followed by a ride on CS and ToT. It helps that the only options nearby the OC office are the olive garden and el torito.Amy wrote:That is nice that you are close enough to have Disneyland as an option for lunch
I know why they called it that... consumer appeal, but panzanella salad flatbread sounds much higher end than "BLT".

I second that on the warm apple strudel! At WDW, the Liberty Tree Tavern used to have a butter pan-seared poundcake, which can take an ordinary poundcake and make it wonderful...elizabethswann wrote:I think I'm sold on the warm apple strudel.Amy wrote:The BLT pizza sounds tastyelizabethswann wrote:http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2 ... cebook0002

I do love the desserts they have at DLR. I went to the Main Street Bakery during the holidays with my best friend and I bought one of the gingerbread men...that was so good that I managed to save the rest to give to my mom.
