Disney/Mickey's Dance Crew is another atrocity probably thought up by the same rocket scientist who wanted to bring Duffy the Money Bear to the States.

What country did that bear concept come from?
The only flaw with the concept is that they are going to war with the build a bear place, which would attract more kids.

I have no idea but Duffy seems real ridiculous. He's just a Build-a-Bear with a Disney stamp on it.

Now I know where I saw that shape before, he looks like the one I saw in Hamley's (kind of like the UK version of FAO Schwartz). That would also explain the look of crushing ennuie the bear has.

This is what I found. I actually thought Duffy was originally a Japanese bear but turns out he started out as just a plain old bear in WDW!Wizzard419 wrote:What country did that bear concept come from?

Here is the whole post where I found this info http://www.chibified.com/?p=2236Duffy The Disney Bear is originally from Walt Disney World. Duffy was just generic merchandise with a bit of hidden Mickey on it to make it Disneyfied. Duffy was brought over in much the same way to Disney Sea in 2004, but the Japanese decided to give it a name and a back story, thus creating a character.

Wow that was a great weekly update. I really dislike the new dance show. I hope that it will be one of those short-lived mistakes that disney had.
I also still hate those new blinking eyes and moving mouth for Mickey. It really is creepy.

I kinda like it, makes it more like the Mickey you would see in the cartoons.Len90 wrote:I also still hate those new blinking eyes and moving mouth for Mickey. It really is creepy.

Have you ever seen it in person. To me it is creepy but in person it loses its creep factor.Len90 wrote:I also still hate those new blinking eyes and moving mouth for Mickey. It really is creepy.

I used to think the character costumes were creepy because it looked like the character had this wide-eyed stare, and they were staring at you with some weird unnatural stare. The "blink" to me makes the eyes seem more normal, and doesn't make them look like they got that creepy stare going on.

I can understand that, but now they both stare and blinkmindflipper wrote:I used to think the character costumes were creepy because it looked like the character had this wide-eyed stare, and they were staring at you with some weird unnatural stare. I do hope to be able to see the new Mickey in person so as to have a better idea of whether I am more creeped out or impressed.

I have posted it before...but if you could see what Mickey looked like in the 50s and 60s in the parks...you would be creeped out even more.Amy wrote:I can understand that, but now they both stare and blinkmindflipper wrote:I used to think the character costumes were creepy because it looked like the character had this wide-eyed stare, and they were staring at you with some weird unnatural stare. Yeah, I have seen what the early characters looked like. Those were definitely scary but they were pretty good looking for the time I suppose

I feel the exact same way. I saw a commercial for that new dancing Mickey doll and it's scary.Len90 wrote:I also still hate those new blinking eyes and moving mouth for Mickey. It really is creepy.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
Does anyone know how they are dismantleing the tile entrance murals? Are they preserving them in some fashion or breaking them up and discarding them?

I honestly have no idea. All I know is that they're dismanteling them but no word on if they're going to keep them or discard them. I do hope they save them for something else because those were nice murals.Amy wrote:Does anyone know how they are dismantleing the tile entrance murals?
