I was going to say that they had the climbers back last year. I wonder if they are just some rock climbers that are contracted to do the climbs or if they have other functions?

My guess is that they want to rotate the store display to make it not look like a set but rather more life-like.

Carthay needs to find a new name for it's Prix Fixe menu other than "Tasting Menu" since that is a bastarization of what a tasting menu is. I wonder how big the candy sticks are since $5 seems steep.

Kinda fun for the mountain climbers to be back, although I thought they had been back for awhile actually. It does sort of make the Matterhorn look smaller though. The picture of the guy with a beard right below the video looks a whole lot like my brother who lives in Cali. That would be a fun summer job though :D
I like that BTMRR will be back open and looking all spiffy for our visit in December! Does the Red Car Trolley actually operate? That seems like it would be fun.
Those displays sure have attracted a lot of attention. They do seem to be a weird sort of jumble...
It seems hard to believe it was a whole year already since Carsland opened. Why don't they have FP for Radiator Springs Racers though :? Or do they have one, but not in the original intended FP distribution area? And do they have a single rider line?
Luigi's Flying Tires doesn't look like much. Is it more fun in person than it looks like it would be from the videos?
Those candy sticks don't look very big actually for $5...

It does, and I think they do some sort of tour on it.

I think the only attention they actually attract is the butt-hurt of the blog author. :D

RSR has FP, they moved the distribution area from outside the ride up to the front (behind Carthay Circle) since everyone runs to get them at the start of the day (and they are gone in a few hours). They have a single rider, a FP, and a general line. Since it is a newer ride with a Wheelchair loading station, you may end up bypassing it if your mom is in a chair.

I think RSR is the only attraction where those who need the guest assistance card are given a return slip. I think they also stamp the card to limit it to one ride. The slip you get would then work like a fastpass.

Great to see the mountain climbers back on Matterhorn. Any word on how long they spend on the mountain each day?

Finally, I have to agree with the blog author on the Buena Vista windows. It really seems like they are trying to bring back the tackiness of the original failed concept.

I think each "show" is like 10-15 mins and they did them a few times a day so... less than an hour.

Not sure about the guest assistance pass, but if they do it then TSMM might also do it as they have similar setups where the handicapped are sent to a loading station that is not connected to the main loading station.

Not sure about the wheelchair procedure with RSR but I know those who can load through the normal queue have that setup. TSMM if you aren't in a wheelchair you go through the normal FP line. Wheelchairs go to a separate loading station where the wheelchair accessible ride vehicle is located and can be brought on and off the track with a pair of track switches.

DLR, for some odd reason, does not have a FP line for TSMM. They did briefly have single rider but that isn't there (or at least isn't consistently running). I imagine the layout is exactly the same for how they handle it there as well, the main reason for the sidetrack being that they don't have to build two elevators (to get over the track) and not have to worry about backups caused by people who are too slow transferring. I forget if they have a car that accommodates the chairs themselves.

I don't think that F1gment will be able to ride RSR. She has never ridden Test Track due to the warnings and she isn't physically able to step down into the cars, so I doubt she will ride RSR this time around :( Good news that a single rider line is available for me though!
The separate loading station for TSMM is awesome in WDW. Mom didn't feel rushed at all and was able to load without problems. It is worth spending a little extra time in the accessible area. And she would never make it up and down all the stairs in the regular queue side. I'm hoping more attractions will have something similar as they are refurbished.

She might be able to do RSR, you might give it a try first if you are concerned. Unlike test track it doesn't do slamming stops and the top speed is only like 45 MPH.

True, but stepping down into the car is still an issue. The ride is nowhere near as jerky as TT and is a lot slower. To me it was the perfectly themed attraction.

As for TSMM, the vehicle (at least at WDW) can accommodate a wheelchair. I would assume the same goes for DLR.

I wasn't sure if they had a car that could support a whole chair at the station, but if DHS has one then DLR would have one since they are the same system.

If she can step down eventually, then she might be able to handle RSR since there would be no rush. It is nice that they developed a system so that the handicapped can get on/off of those rides without disrupting the flow of cars. Space Mtn has a similar setup but it does have a disruption since one car has to be pushed to the side while the handicapped car is on the track.

That reminds me, again if she can step down if given enough time, Grizzly river run also has a handicapped car catcher so you aren't rushed.

I guess the concern with Test Track wasn't the anti-lock braking portion of the attraction, but rather if the ride were to have an emergency stop when it is on the outside portion. Since she has cardiac problems, she decided against taking any chances.

I would guess that TSMM would be the same at DL as it is in WDW, but I should probably check into that before we go. She really enjoys that attraction.
We are actually waiting for some test results from her latest Dr. appt. now about her knee. This injury is from when the lady rammed into her at WDW at the first Mayhem Mauraders Meetup. The collision almost knocked Mom and her ECV over, but luckily someone passing by (I was on an attraction with a few others, so I didn't see it happen) caught her before she tipped over! The first doc she saw when we returned from vacation really didn't do anything beyond a few x-rays to make sure nothing was broken. And her GP has been telling her she just has "arthritis" because she is old(er). The doc she is finally seeing now is the one I saw for my shoulder injury from the fire department so hopefully we can get some definitive treatment. Doubt she will be up to those big steps by then, but hopefully we can get her to where she can get into the Pirates of the Caribbean boat at some point since she loves that attraction :D I don't think she would like Grizzly River Run ~ I don't think she went on it when we were there before she had quite as many health problems.
~ She just told me she IS going on the PoC ~ she is going to tell the physical therapist (we assume she will be doing that at the very least) that she needs to practice a step that big

That does make me laugh that they served subway as the meal for the charity premiere, you would think they would at least use something made on site. :D

Oh and a heads up for people wanting to purchase the merch from the tiki event, most of it is open edition so you can skip the ebay markups.
