I forget, doesn't the surfliner stop at union station (as seen in various movies and tv shows) and then you have to take a coach to Bakersfield to pick up the rails again?

I wonder if that shield/hat icon at the top of the stage is a display that just happens to have it's backlight turned off. It seems so dim in all of the photos.

I forgot to mention, the telephone/power poles that are added to Cars Land during the holiday season have their holes covered with small manhole covers so they don't stick out and are safe to walk on.

That sort of stinks that parts of DCA will be closed during the 24 hour event for grad night.
I wondered the same thing about the shield Wizz ~ it does look like it will light up, or animate in some fashion.
Have they said when Big Thunder Mountain will be re-opening?
It doesn't seem to say why the flags and ropes are on top of the Golden Horseshoe Saloon. Does anyone know?
If they are talking about slurry in the Carsland repaving, I wonder if instead of repaving, they simply did the blacktop seal to make the street look new again?
Anyone else bothered by the food carts parked on the streets between parades? I think it is pretty convenient and probably encourages more impulse buys of snacks.

The grad nights are kind of set in stone so they cannot be moved and this event was probably less than a year in the planning.

I think the slated re-opening is in November, right before the winter rush comes in for the holiday season.

The flags/ropes are there probably for any roof work being done, think of it like a less breezy form of caution tape.

There might be another reason for the re-paving, since the cars only occupy and drive select spaces, they may have uneven wear that just doesn't look good, and the repairs are cheap enough that they can do them annually.

I forgot to mention, as you will be there this winter, Trader Sam's sells their tiki mugs as well. I wouldn't bother with the shell or clear glass mugs as those are generic and can be purchased anywhere. Their supplier is actually a local company called tiki farm.

I'm not a big fan of the Tiki stuff so I probably wouldn't buy any of them ~ but thanks for the tip! I do imagine we will head to Trader Sam's to check it out and maybe have a snack :D

Going back to the seal over the stage for the new show, it looks like it isn't a display, but they have it lit with recessed lights as well as projections on it. That is one big video display, here is the show for anyone who wants to see it.

Latest update from Micechat: Disneyland scares up a Monstrous Summer with big events and new offerings, etc.

Also, I hope whoever went to the 24 hour thing at DLR had fun!

I am surprised there was no note of Trader Sam's second anniversary and their requisite new mug.

Even though the grad night tickets apparently are slightly less than a normal ticket, that is still kind of a rip-off since you only get a few areas of DCA rather than all of DLR for the event and have to deal with larger crowds in the park for the 24hr event.

Interesting, possible explosion in Toontown just a few mins ago. Supposedly in a trashcan, which goes to show that the magic chopstick does not prevent people from brining stuff in.

Not worth it, it was just a dry ice bomb, so probably a worker was involved since dry ice is used in the carts to keep stuff frozen. Though in OC a dry ice bomb can get you hard time and a possible WMD charge.

Good to finally see pictures from the 24 hour event at DLR. Up until this point we had really only seen WDW through the live camera Disney set-up. I kind of do wish all three parks had a camera in them for the event.
