What's your favorite dark ride at the Disneyland Resort?

The Fantasyland Dark Rides are a rariety that make me feel so thrilled.
I can't fully explain this phenomenon, but the fact that I dedicate a whole night to ride them can't be lost on many.

I voted for Alice in Wonderland as my favorite because it has such a odd vibe that you can't get anywhere else. It makes you feel peculiar.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is my second favorite and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in my third.

With that being said, would you consider Haunted Mansion Holiday a dark ride attraction? The reason I ask is because of the debate we first had when I started this thread.

Peter Pan's Flight is our favorite. It was the first dark ride I ever went on.

Peter Pan all the way! By far the best dark ride in Disneyland. I love the flying over London/Neverland scenes. I just wish the line wasn't so long.

Technically speaking, in Theme Park terms, The Haunted Mansion would not be considered a "Dark Ride". It would be referred to as a "White Light Attraction". The defining factor usually refers to the type of lighting being used. Some rides incorporate both types of lighting black/white.

So I guess Space Mountain wouldn't be considered a "Dark Ride", right? Because it's a roller coaster and the lighting they use.
My vote is Mike and Sully to the Rescue. When I went on it, it was like I was actually in the movie!

The terms "black light ride" and "dark ride" are not interchangeable. Dark rides had existed for several decades before the whole fluorescent paint/black light technique got popular in the mid-20th century. White light and black light rides are two sub-categories of "dark rides." So, in that sense, HM does qualify (according to the question). However, if the question is asking which BLACK LIGHT ride is your favorite, then that would qualify rides like HMH and Roger Rabbit, but disqualify HM and Indiana Jones (which I'm surprised no on mentioned).

Personally, I do think both HMH and HM should be eliminated from the list of these other rides simply because it would be like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Honda Civic. They're both wonderful cars; just not in the same class.

As a quick side note -- All of the rides we've mentioned here except for HM have one thing in common: they are all based on films. Obviously there was that dreadful Eddie Murphy movie that was later based on the ride, but that doesn't count. HM (like Pirates, Submarine Voyage, Small World, Adventure Thru Inner Space, etc.) are concepts that are unique to the park itself. So, it sort of sets HM apart from these others thematically.

I agree with Neptune. Haunted Mansion (and anythig to do with it) is in a different class than any of these other rides. In order to be compared fairly, it would have to be up against other "E" ticket rides like "Pirates".

Peter Pan holds my heart in this category. I can still feel the magic I felt as a kid when I "take flight" over London. It is true Disney magic. If the length of the constant lines (at both U.S. parks) is any indication, I am not the only one who feels it.
