So this was one that Matterhorn was in need of for a while? And is it me or did Matterhorn get darker rocks?

Appears that the Rivers of America refurb is kicking it into high gear. I noticed some lights for night time work in the pictures and it looks like the Mark Twain is all wrapped up for what I would presume is painting. And most importantly, the Zephyr got covered up. I didn't think Disney would want all that scaffolding being exposed to the general public.
The last MiceChat I saw indicated the trolleys aren't supposed to be up and running until 2012 - do you really think they are going to have construction on that street that long? California Adventure truly looks like a maze right now with all those construction walls. Exciting changes to be sure but I'm thinking what a crowded nightmare the parks will be over Spring Break season!

From what I understand, the trolley will go from the front of the park to the courtyard of Tower of Terror. Don't remember where I read that, though.

You are correct about that. This is from Wikipedia:

Red Car trolleys from Buena Vista Street will go through the land (Hollywoodland aka Hollywood Pictures Backlot).

2012 still seems like a really long time for that kind of construction...

Now, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they are going to be re-theming the entrance plaza. If this is the case, and the trolleys would be running through this area, 2012 seems like it would be right on target. But I'm not sure where that project stands though.

They are going to re-theme the entrance plaza. They're going to do it how the Disney Hollywood Studios has theirs like this but they're going to theme it like how Los Angeles looked when Walt Disney first arrived.

There's the info on what they plan on doing.

Well, if they are counting the re-theming of the entrance plaza, that does make sense that it is more like 2012. You all are so helpful :)

Wow that was a good update this past week. It is amazing to see how one week the parks are barren and the next week they are sprawling with activity. Looks like most of those seasonal refurbishments are over. Good to see concrete being poured at the Mermaid area. Shouldn't be long until the structure starts going up and yet another crane will magically appear overnight!

I agree, it was nice to see all the new activity. The thought of being in the crowds however :(...give me the off season anyday :)

Spring Break tends to be the craziest with all the college students getting off at different times so just be careful whenever going there!

What is this off season you speak of? With 1 million AP holders now and so many locals going all times of the year.....They say that the summer when the tourists come from out of state is when the off season is now. That is when the SoCal AP's are blocked out and parking is WAY better.
