You call up (you can't do it online) and, I forgot the name of it, and order some under the stars cruise for the "river" that connects to the world showcase lagoon (it's the one that the resorts use to boat to DHS). They dock under the bridge between France and the hotel entrance for the world showcase. They are party boats and you can have snacks or full meals (from any place on property I think) served on the boat.

Here is a link to the Illuminations and fireworks cruises. They are pretty pricey, but if you get a group together it works out to a fairly reasonable price. The only problem I can see is that you sort of at the mercy of which way the wind is blowing. I've read some reviews who have said the fireworks smoke can obscure the show. It still would be a fun way to see the show from a different perspective though

Hasn't the smoke been reduced more (they are no closer than any guest areas) in the recent years since they are constantly getting new fireworks patents?

I know they kick out less smoke than normal fireworks and have beter control, but I can't be positive.

We once got invited onto one of these by another family of Disney fans that I'd become friendly with online. It was really nice. The captain takes you over to DHS first, then back to Epcot before you settle down to watch Illuminations. Your spot is by the bridge by the International Gateway. I'd love to do it again sometime. It was a a great, hassle-free way to experience Illuminations - all from the comfort of your private ship. Maybe someday. Of course, it may be a while, since I'd probably have to pay for it next time...

That's something I would like to try during a Mayhem Marauder's met-up. That way the cost could be fairly reasonable spread out over several people. Plus you know you would have a fun timemomeja wrote:We once got invited onto one of these by another family of Disney fans that I'd become friendly with online. It was really nice. I'm removing all of the spam now. There shouldn't really be anymore left for now. With it being a weekend AND Mother's Day, there was just nobody around all day. There were over 100 threads either hit or started and each one is being deleted.momeja wrote:Len, can someone please remove all these horrible spam posts?![]()

If I were a mod I would have cleaned those up since I'm on quite often. But anyway.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
I was thinking about this at lunch today, the rocket rods track is probably never going to be used again for anything other than shade and camera platforms. Not because of a lack of ideas or funding but rather the OSHA laws and the need for handrails, the track itself, and other dangers.
