Wow amazing to see how DL turns into a ghost town when it rains. You almost think that the people are allergic to the rain. I actually wish WDW would get that empty in a rain. Only time you don't see people walking there is when it is extremely severe.

Beautiful, ain't it? Back in Nov 2002 I visited DL and it hadn't rained for weeks but it chose that day I arived to rain. Disappointed? No! I bought a two-park two-day pass and went into the parks at 3PM and manage to cover both parks all rides before the parks closed. And if there was no one in the queue - they would let us ride again without having to disembark and get back in line. I did that at HMH, Space Mtn, and Splash Mtn. That trip was the first time I ever rode Soarin' [Over California] - and I manage to ride that 4 times that night! I love Disneyland when it rains!Len90 wrote:Wow amazing to see how DL turns into a ghost town when it rains. You almost think that the people are allergic to the rain.
Rain doesn't clear out WDW. However, I have been to MK twice in my life when it was practically desserted: once in Dec 1982, when everybody instead was at EPCOT after it had just opened that October; and the Thanksgiving after 9-11, when everyone was afraid to go to any of the theme-parks. Disney and Universal Studios had so many reservation cancellations that many of the hotel resorts had to temporarily shut down restaurants and shops and lay off the staff. It takes rare circumstances to ever turn the parks into a ghost-town, Len90.Len90 wrote:I actually wish WDW would get that empty in a rain.

I have been to DL a few times during rain throughout the years...I love it! I love the rain anyway since living in a desert it's considered a treat. Add the rain to my favorite getaway and it's paradise!!!! No lines!!!!
...the rotten part is, if all had gone to plan, we would have been there that weekend!!!! AARGH!!!!

Oh wow. It seems like almost nothing is open in Disneyland and CA. Appears that everywhere you turn there is a construction wall in the parks now. Can 2012 come soon enough for California Adventure?
