Re: Dateline Disneyland
And that thinking would be wrong.
The goal is to build the shell and let other companies come in to draw the crowds in while paying rent, salaries, operating costs, etc. If they open a store then not only are they foregoing rent collection on a tennant but they also have to pay the salaries of the workers, inventory, etc. They have the other option of just leaving the space vacant, which would look bad to others and also risk impacting the going rate for rent. It's much harder to ask for a lower rate when you technically have 100% occupancy.

Maybe they are covering vacant spaces with their own stores then?Wizzard419 wrote:And that thinking would be wrong. Yes, Wizzard, I suppose you were right. Some of us are just a little slow on the uptakeWizzard419 wrote:That's what I was saying

Latest update from Micechat: Rain washes out the first nights of Candlelight at Disneyland, etc.
I'm hoping that it doesn't rain for when I go to the Candlelight on the 17th. I'd be crushed to miss out on it.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
Pretty much EVERYTHING got cancelled on Friday, but didn't seem to do any harm to Saturday. I have no idea what happened on Sunday though as my flight home was early on Sunday. I was keeping an eye out for the dateline disneyland photographer, but was unsuccessful in finding them.
It probably won't rain anymore now that I am home in NJ.

Oh noes, they had to cancel the newsboys performances? Whatever did people do without the royalty free music?
I had to run there really quick on Friday (DTD lot + 3 hours free parking for the win) and I was surprised that the fireworks went off in some capacity on Friday.
This week the cannon is filled with left over Flynn's Arcade tokens.

Fireworks went off as normal on Friday, but they were not very visible from all the cloud cover. It seemed like the only thing that Disney did not cancel.Wizzard419 wrote:Oh noes, they had to cancel the newsboys performances? Whatever did people do without the royalty free music?

Judging by the people there, I would say that the only night show they cancelled was fantasmic, WOC and Mad T Party were running.

Re: Dateline Disneyland
We were there last weekend Thursday Through Sunday.
Not too busy, Thur, Friday, Saturday got crowded.
Indiana Jones went up and down throughout the day, line reached 100 minutes later in the day with no Fast Passes left.
At the end of the ride, the boulde was not rolling, Guess they need to fix this at some point.
We really liked Billy Hill with Countr Bear Surprise.

Next trip won;t be until October when Big Thunder rehab gets done.
