I don't think staying on site offers many advantages, in fact, I can't think of any beyond magic hours. I'd save my money, the other hotels are just as close in walking distance. That way you can buy a SR shirt.
We'll have to meet up!

Do they come in size FAT???? LMAO
I am thinking I will be there June 17th & 18th or 18th & 19th whatever works for anyone else who might want to meet up there. That would be cool to do a meet up! I have to fly home on the 21st and I can't be at DL before the 17th so I am kinda limited.
I will watch for postings on it

I'm still open during that time as well. I just need to know before march because I won't be able to get a flight out there easily. Sub you should start another sticky in the Trip planning section, like what JS did for the East coast meet.

We always stay on property no matter which Disney we go to. Its not just about how close you are to the themeparks or how the hotel looks etc. The best thing about staying in a Disney hotel is the staff. They are a special breed. They must be, they are always the most friendly and helpful people you could ever hope to meet.
The Grand Californian is definately my favourite DL hotel. My brother loves the monorail and He and I were chatting at the sign in desk. He was telling me that DL has a monorail like WDW and that it passes through the hotel. The recptionist looked up and smiled. When we went up to our room we had a balcony looking out over the monorail track and were able to watch it go past from our room!

I think I have decided to stay at either the Tropicana or Candy Cane, I have stayed at those so many times, and I am hardly in the room so I would rather save the money to spend on ME

at the parks! Monte Cristo sandwich here I come

Grand Californian Hotel is the best but the most expensieve. We like the classic charm or the Disneyland Hotel!!

We would love to get to DL next year, never been before, and I am not sure where to stay.

The Disneyland Hotel is awesome. Not too far from the Monorail, or if you haven't/won't get enough walking in around the parks you can take a stroll to or from the entrance plaza watching everyone else rush to the trams to get their cars.

I've got a Paradise Pier question. Can you see Paradise Pier from the Paradise Pier hotel pool?
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

My new personal DLR resort favorite is the Grand Californian. I stayed there last time with a great view of Condor Flats, Grizzly River Rapids and the Pier. Stuck between the two parks and easy walking distance to both.

We like to stay at the Disneyland Hotel on the concierge level. It is a little more expensive but saves us in the long run because we get all of our drinks, bottled water and pop, and breakfast at the hotel. Snacks are available throughout the day if you are willing to suspend your fun at the parks and return to the hotel. The best part is watching the fireworks from the lounge. They have cookies and milk and hot chocolate and the music is piped in. And there are no crowds!
