I do so love the people mover in the Magic Kingdom.. It is such a nice break and a great ride. I love it when the Space Mountain lights are on in the morning.. really neat.

Peoplemover doesn't need to be ADA, Wedway isn't. There are rides in the parks that you still have to fully leave a wheelchair to experiance. I don't believe they actually can mandate accessability in parks, just "strongly encourage" [I had to bone up on their rules for a project at work...]. Even still, it would be easy to make accessable, Speaceship Earth and others all board on the rotating platform and are accessable. A creative ramp design or lift it all it would take.

That said, bring back the Peoplemover!

Seriously! If only they would adhere to the essentially anonymous suggestions of a tiny group of people who represent an infinitesimally small subset of their fanbase and an even smaller fraction of their yearly revenues who collectively probably have too few shares of stock to wave a stick at, then everything would be PERFECT!

Hehe... just kidding, folks! We're all great

We may be a small contingent, but we are passionate. I wonder if we could start some kind of "Bring Back the PeopleMover" movement and gain large numbers so that Disney would have to work a little bit harder to ignore us?

You're onto something there. Now you have my brain working in organizer mode - hmmm...

Could we bombard Disney with e-mails, letters, etc. Or should it be a more political campaign. Or do we just stand there and just say "Come oooooooon, Oh Come on" :D

First we need to get someone with good climbing skills then we get a lot of folks lined up up on the track proper and hold signs and banners and get people with boomboxes blaring out the Peoplemover soundtrack. Time to take it to the streets! Seriously though, I'll get looking at setting up a way to organize people since I think we have some good support...

I was only half joking. But if we do start a bring pack the people mover campaign, lets stay away from online petitions, they don't seem to do a lot of good. If anything a letter writing campaign. Or perhaps even a "phone day" where people call Disneyland customer relations on a certain day asking for them to bring back the PeopleMover.

I don't even remember the Pirate Ship Restaurant. Where was it and what replaced it? The skyway was a great bird's-eye-view. IReally miss the submarines though. Woould have loved for my kids to experience it!

I included the Pirate Ship because of this recent thread.

Here is the Yesterland page about it. According to that, the Pirate Ship is where the Dumbo ride is now.

Thanks for the link! I was at DL in 1980 and I have no memory of the the pirate ship or Skull Rock. I guess it was just too many spins in the teacups that trip...

I really miss the Rocket Rods. I know it killed the PeopleMover and all, and believe me, I'm a huge PeopleMover fan. But if they could bring back the Rocket Rods and properly execute it this time, it could be great.
