I wonder if they are testing some new lighting effects?

I wonder if it's an experiment to see how the public handles having limited hours for a major attraction?

Not really huge news or anything but apparently (local paper) California Screamin' had to do emergency evacuations because an object fell on the tracks and tripped the automatic shut down stuff. Nothing terribly interesting, everything worked as expected.

Glad it wasn't anything big!

Does anyone know what the Carthay Circle fountain pumphouse is going to house when it opens?

Actually, it is good to hear that some safety feature works as it should. It's not like they get tested that often in the real world...

Still nothing official yet but my money is still on anything other than an attraction.

Reminds me of the time they had to evac Rock N Rollercoaster (WDW) because some idiot dropped his marijuana blunt (while still LIT!!!) in the launch tunnel...

Security only has metal detectors (which I don't see them using), but I don't see any drug-sniffing dogs at the security area in front of the parks...

Quite easily. He didn't light it until the ride vehicle was at the launch area.

Oh, they have dogs (metal detectors on the other hand Disney will not own or use on guests). I don't know if they are bomb/drug sniffing or just one or the other but they are not used for sniffing guests (that sounds weird doesn't it?).

I think I saw a security dog one time but I don't remember when.

The entrance looks so different with the Golden Gate bridge gone! And I have to agree with the writer that perhaps Disney needs to give up on selling Photo Pass pictures from the front of the park, it just isn't that photogenic up there right now

But isn't Photo Pass for the whole park and both parks too? It would stilll make sense to sell it up front even though its not photogenic spot...
