Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
Nice update, thanks Ms. Swann.
Shame to see that Goofy's Sky School is very plain and doesn't include any ride music... Hopefully that's just due to it being a soft opening and they change it when it officially opens.
Cars Land still looks amazing. What's the proposed opening date? I definitely need to plan a trip when that is finished!

I don't think the previous ride had any music as well, since it's just a reskin rather than a new ride.
Cars Land is slated for next summer, so probably June-ish or late May.

Thanks Wizz. I saw the video of the ride is only about 1:30 seconds long, so I guess adding an audio system to the cars or track wasn't going to be worth the hassle for such a short ride.

I think the problem was more that they couldn't localize sounds cheaply (it's possible but expensive and might not work since the coaster moves).

I'm actually hoping that the ride is temporary because it's still the Mulholland Madness with a paint job. It's nothing exciting.

I wouldn't bet on it, the plans look like the area was going to be made over based on the old cartoons, which they did.

Looks like the 4th of july preshow for world of color has been running since the 1st, and someone recorded it.

Because they only used small ammounts (compared to luminaria) they didn't smoke out the crowd either.
Though going to Disneyland today/tonight is the 2nd worst place to go, unless you're staying at the hotel, the worst are the public shows on the beach (the private shows can be bad too) since the advice of people is to sit in the bar for a few hours after the show because traffic will be a nightmare.

Latest update from Micechat: Dining in Paradise, Goofy flies, Celebrating Fourth of July, Buena Vista Street, etc.
Also, I went to DLR tonight but I didn't want to watch the fireworks (I'm not too big on them really) but I did watch some of them while I was on my way from Big Thunder Mountain to Splash Mountain. Both rides were a total walk on and that made up for it. I saw a lot more fireworks on my way home.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
I might have to brave Goofy's Flight School just for the views of the park at night! And does anyone else think Carsland's Main Street looks like it is going to be really hot?! I haven't seen the movie, but I'm guessing from the rockwork it is more or less a desert setting...but, no trees at all?!elizabethswann wrote:http://micechat.com/blogs/dateline-disn ... -more.html

Ms. Swann ~ That is cool that you managed any kind of walk on in DL on the 4th. I would guess most people were kind of glued to watching the fireworks display though...How was the traffic?

Goofy's flight school will probably shut down at night for world of color since all the paradise pier attractions have to go dark/silent during the show.
Carsland won't be that much hotter than the rest of the park or even disneyland since there may be trees but most of the parks don't have that much shade.

Well, I'll have to ride it at dusk then. The video in that issue of Micechat was pretty late since everything was all lit up. How early is the earliest World of Color show?Wizzard419 wrote:Goofy's flight school will probably shut down at night for world of color since all the paradise pier attractions have to go dark/silent during the show.

At least Disneyland has some trees and shade. That artist's video rendering showed nothing
