I've seen those at DL for the same attractions.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
Don't get me wrong. There are days where I've seen 2+ hour waits for some attractions too. I was simply making a point about how there are sell out days at DL, but not necessarily terrible lines.
TSM, for example, every time we've been we haven't waited less than 40 minutes. It's usually around a 45-50 minute wait. But I have heard (and seen via a WDW wait time app...not sure of accuracy) about 90-120 minute waits on a daily basis.

Drats! You got my hopes up that I need to go DLR next time instead of WDW...

What makes you think the Haunted Mansion Holiday would be of any interest to me?Wizzard419 wrote:We still have Haunted Mansion Holiday, a better space mountain, a better fantasmic, cake, etc.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
Given the size of the parks, as you've said, I'm wondering if capacity is greater, too. So more people will be there but they still won't close for capacity.mindflipper wrote:I've been told WDW has had do the same thing, but the times I've been there and the park is so packed you wonder if it's safe to be that crowded it seems like they still keep admitting people into the park...Wizzard419 wrote:But what about DLR having multiple days a year where they have to stop selling tickets because they've reached capacity?
thanks for the insights. I've always wondered which was more crowded. The size issue makes so much sense to me.

I don't think you'd like it at all...that's why I didn't mention it.mindflipper wrote:What makes you think the Haunted Mansion Holiday would be of any interest to me?Wizzard419 wrote:We still have Haunted Mansion Holiday, a better space mountain, a better fantasmic, cake, etc.![]()

I would have sworn that picture was silver the last time I looked at it, I like the more dirty gold look, like they did with the 98 rennovation. The clean stuff always looked like bad 1980's battlestar galactica where space was always perfectly clean.

...which is ironic considering Star Wars pioneered the whole second-hand trashed look for Sci-Fi films.Wizzard419 wrote:I would have sworn that picture was silver the last time I looked at it, I like the more dirty gold look, like they did with the 98 rennovation. The old "clean" look did make some sense since it was supposed to be a travel center, though why they would have you go through the service areas to get to your gate is beyond me.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
I got an email earlier today (I hate all day meeting days) and it looks like soft openings for ST2 may be AP only. They are doing a lotto system for AP holders where you check off which days on their list you could be there (am/pm) and then you're entered.

I had gotten an email about that too but I'm not entering it. Hopefully one of us here does.

Re: DCA Gets A Worthy Overhaul Budget
My guess is they are doing a more controlled soft opening, more like a focus group so that there isn't someone tweeting about it being opened and a mob suddenly shows up.
