It's always had that theme, it's just tough to notice, as it's mostly just the bells at the top of the structure more than anything.FlyingMouse wrote:Did they recently add a new theme to the Maliboomer, within the last 2 years? On our trip in 2006, I don't remember it having a "swing the sledgehammer and try to ring the bell" look. Not that the look is bad, but if they're going to demolish, why change it.

...it'd be Tower of Terror! Must say I never did ride the Maliboomer, I don't love the ups and downs unless there's a fabulous theme like the Hollywood Tower Hotel.horizons1 wrote:I can't say I'll be sad to see this leave. Way too common carnival ride and nothing special for a Disney park. Now, if they put it indoors...
As for the new increased shade, I can't wait for that update! My biggest complaint about that park has always been the lack of trees and shady spots to relax.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I'll be sad to see it go. Mainly because it was one of those rides you could just hop on in a matter of minutes. And it was kinda fun, although it made my back hurt a little
.... Hopefully whatever they replace it with will be cool. I've been sort of bummed lately that Disney hasn't really opened up any new BIG rides. Yeah they reopened the submarine voyage, but they haven't done anything big since Indiana Jones really...(I'm talking IN DLR not DCA)

This makes me so sad. It is one of the rides that I never miss at DCA. While I dont enjoy it for the gut-wrenching feeling of the up's and down's the view from the top is breath-taking! You can see all of the California Adventure and even catch a glimpse of the Matterhorn and other landmarks of Disneyland.
Kinda makes me angry because I am sure they will replace it with yet another pixar themed ride - all hail pixar planet - coming to a Disney theme park near you!!

Here's an update, guys. There has been rumors that the removal has been postponed or that they won't be removing it at all. Read here:
