Perhaps if they would negotiate instead of protest this would be resolved quicker. I have not seen one union representative attempting to state the union's case. They should be using the media to its full advantage instead of dressing up and breaking the law. This does not paint them favorably in my eyes.
It's always difficult getting a realistic look at union disputes, especially when they involve a company like Disney. You can not faithfully read any coverage in the main media, as almost 100% of the time the publishing companies will side with like-minded large corporations (even if they are competitors). The media almost always chooses not to interview the union representatives because of the reprocutions that could come from Disney (in this case). That's way the union has to resort to dressing up in Disney costumes to get coverage. They've been protesting for over a year at this point, and it hasn't really gotten any news (aside from Disney fan sites like Mouse Planet). Now that they've been parading around in costume, the media is covering it.
They might have caused children to ask their parents why tinker belle was getting arrested, but it will make Disney and the media pay attention to the union laborers. The parents whose children saw that might go to City Hall and file a complaint with Guest Services, and the more people do that the more Disney will have to pay attention, because obviously their strike isn't doing enough. Also, the parents should be able to explain the situation to the child, by saying that it wasn't the real TinkerBelle (or other character), but someone dressed up for Halloween that was trying to get attention.
