Yes that is Paradise Pier, but ugh!!!! That is one of the areas of Disney I avoid like the plague. It shouldn't even be in a Disney park. That area was such a wrong move by Disney. When did a Carnival become Disney? You can tell it isn't good by the attendance in that small strip. The only thing I see people doing there is Walking past things and maybe going on a few rides since they are there.

Ehh..i kinda disagree. I actually like it a lot and you have to remember that california adventure is a park that captures what truly defines california. Carnivals were a big part of california and the whole beach scene. Thats exactly what they capture, especially with california screamin.
I know its not really "Disney", but with the idea they had for the park they did a good job of building that idea.
I guess to each their own....i think its coo

I too like Paradise Pier. I always go to California Screamin' when I visit the park, and I really enjoy the music there. I also try to hit up the carousel there, as it's really fun. I actually enjoy the atmosphere there, even thought it does leave a little to be desired. I'd rank it behind Grizzly Peak and Pacific Wharf / Farm area, but I like it better than Condor Flats, Hollywood Pictures and Bug's Land.

Oh i agree...there definitely are better lands in the whole scheme of things. This just happens to be 'one' of my favorites.

I voted for Disneyland, but still like DCA a lot. For a while after it opened I went to DCA more than Disneyland. Ever since the 50th I keep going to Disneyland a lot more. Can't beat the classic!

Well, Disneyland is definitely better in my opinion. There are a few fun attractions at DCA but overall I don't think it even comes close to Disneyland in terms of
real Disney magic. The potential is there for it to be a great park, but it's not there yet. Like others have already said, let's give it another 10-15 years or so and hope that the new budget will give it the much needed TLC it needs.

I kinda knew this poll was heading this way..im actually pretty surprised someone else voted for DCA, hahaha!
I guess its safe to say almost everyone prefers DL to DCA much more. I cant wait to see the progress that DCA goes through. Hopefully us californians will see a 3rd gate coming soon!

I've never been to the Disneyland Resort, but Disneyland Park aside, Paradise Pier is one of the main things I can't wait to see when I get there. It doesn't look very Six Flags-like from the pics I've seen. Where else can you ride a looping-wooden-look-a-like roller coaster or ride a sliding Ferris Wheel car. If Walt had built something like that in his time it wouldn't be anything special, but because seaside amusement parks are so rare and unclean because of lack of attendance and money (at least for the east coast, don't know much about the west) nowadays, I think it's a great tribute. For me, it fits in perfectly with Disney, but "everyone has their own Disney".

Unfortunately I am unable to vote on this one. I have not ever been to Disneyland, just Disney World.

Oh geez how easy was this to answer!? Disneyland all the way!!!! It's the original and the best. But I d agree with giving California Adventure some time.

My biggest complaint about California Adventure is all the HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS!!!! Even the dinky Tuck and Roll bumper cars in Bug's Land have one! Seriously, have you been on those? I realize they have them in Disneyland too, but there seems to be so much more the whole family can enjoy in Disneyland. I still like California Adventure, but I wish they have more FAMILY friendly rides.
Wasn't that part of what Walt Disney was trying to do? Making a place the whole FAMILY can enjoy?
They seem to be working on it - Monsters Inc. and and the new Toy Story ride, we'll have to see....
