Teary eyed

Have you ever gotten teary eyed while at Disneyland? Like the whole disney thing just got you in the old ticker? I have during the 50th fireworks show when Walts dedication speech came on. OOOHHH! just to be in the place where he made it all possible just made me feel so emotional. I will never forget that moment.

I actually got emotional during the 50th fireworks show as well, but it wasn't during Walt's speech. It was while I was watching my daughter's eyes light up with excitement as she saw Tinkerbell fly through the sky for the first time. When I saw how happy she was I realized that you can't duplicate magic like that. You can only get it from Disney.

We have a DVD of the show now and every time I watch it I tear up! I think, for me, Disneyland has so many fond memories of time spent with family that it's easy to get emotional just thinking about those little memories.

Um, yeah. I was involved in a car accident not long before arriving at Disneyland a few years ago. That night we went to see the Electrical Parade, and yeah, it was just really emotional for me because the accident was fresh in my mind.

I was just really thankful to have made it.

I ALWAYS get teary eyed at night when the lights come on and during Fantasmic. You see my mom used to make sure that we went to WDW, we are from FL, every year and she passed away when I was 12. I think being at the park brings us together in some weird cosmic way.

I cried during the Walt dedication part in POD when we went for the opening day of the 50th. I also get teary eyed during the MSEP. And I get so teary eyed when I leave the park, my husband just shakes his head because he thinks I am a total kid but I can't help it. I have such strong emotional ties to DLR and most of my fondest memories were captured there...

Before it was removed from Disneyland's Main Street Opera House, Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln would choke me up. As does The American Adventure.

The first time I saw Philharmagic, I choked up with a huge grin on my face... not a common occurrence, at least for me... during the Lion King portion. Oh, and during portions of DAK's Festival of the Lion King.

So apparently my soft spots are Americana and Lion King.

Oh yes.

I've mentioned the story elsewhere, but when Mom and I were talking to Mickey Mouse on Main Street at the very time/day when my brother had passed, and telling Mickey how much we loved him and Walt Disney for how they positively impacted Erik's life... we were all in tears, Mickey included!

And then of course, since we don't live anywhere near Disneyland, when we left the park and Anaheim in general, we were both bawling.

Not so much at DL as I've not been there since I was a kid (trying to change that quickly), but I get choked up over a laundry list of things at WDW usually inolving my kids, music and the nostalgia it all brings back to me.

On Main street, just after the holiday parade when they made it snow. Seeing my teenage daughter get teary eyed watching the smaller children ohhwing and ahhhwing at the 'snow' in california. Seeing them believe in the magic made her tear up, and I fell just like a big ole domino.....getting teary just remembering it. But it also brings a smile to my heart

I've actually done it several times at the park. I just love being there. I'll just sit back and relax and think about all the fun that everyone is having, and how wonderful a place it is. Of course, this gets worse during the holiday season, but you get the idea.

Hi again. I know I'm probably overdoing it but I can think of couple of times when I almost lost it at Disney. The first was the first time I ever went to WDW. Even though I probably mentioned it before, and even though I knew about WDW there was just something about actually standing there at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot that made everything else just fade away and I almost broke down. Another instance was not so joyous; it was DL and I had just come from the MSOP to see the anniversary film, (so already I was a little miffed, but more on that some other time). Anyway as I looked in the post-show area I noticed they had removed the Fifth Freedom Mural and replaced it with Monsters, Inc. preview, which is eough to make anybody cry. Anyway, like I've said before I'm just an old sentimentalist, but hey, if you have care about something it might as well be the right thing right? Until later, peace.

I can understand that; Blinker Eye. When I rode the new JII at Epcot, I sobbed for the loss of the old ride.

Happened twice on our last WDW trip(Me, the wife, and female child #1. Female child #2 was at grandparents). First time, we were at MGM watching the Stars and Motorcars parade. Our daughter didn't really want to watch a parade, but we convinced her to at least watch some of it to see what she thought. Oh my gosh, did she enjoy it! But what really got me was when the Toy Story crew appeared and she started yelling "Jessie! It's Jessie!". Being at a Walt freaking Disney World with MY family, and hearing the excitement in my daughters voice, well, makes me want to lose it right now.

The other time was while we were watching Wishes. Man, that's a good show.

EDIT - Also, I almost always lose it at the end of Fantasmic! finale track when Mickey says "Some imagination, huh!".

Yeah, that IS a very powerful line, isn't it?

When we left Disneyland in 1997, we were very teary-eyed since its a cross-country trip for us to go there (and why we haven't been back since - for money reasons). It was sad to be leaving the original "happiest place on earth" and having to go back to the stress (then) of our home lives.
