It never hurts to try something new, especially when it is only a temporary change. Maybe they can try another artist or something original for comparison at a later date.

Yeah, that'd be cool too. Its fun with RHCP, but they could find something better if they tried.

I loved RSM and RCS. This is what I had to say about it over at Visions Fantastic.

Rockin' SPACE MOUNTAIN
OK, this was the second thing I went on today and even though the park opened 15 minutes before, Rockin' Space Mountain already had a 25 minute wait and the when I got a Fastpass for it, the crowds had already gotten to the Fastpass machines which made Rockin' Space Mountain Fastpass wait until 12: 25 pm. :-/ So, I got in line and I thought to myself when I got to the dome entrance that they didnt change any audio nor the sign... So, I get to the interior corridors and I see the saftey video. Another thing not changed.... But, I did notice that they did install a few new lighting fixtures to the queue line coridor which was pretty nice. Then I get to the Space Port(a.k.a. the load/unload station) and while waiting in line, I notice the planet orbit video and at first...it appeared unchanged but I did reconize a few additions to the video...but only minor additions. First, the spaceman with the air guitar. I also noticed the addition of a space station or a satelite of sorts. Then, as I got closer and closer to the loading area, I noticed that the Space Port had gotten a little bit brighter but barely noticible. So I requested the front row as I always do. So anyways, once the ride began, I started checking everything out imeddiately. I liked how the power up room was changed blue but it seemed like a lighter blue than in the videos. Still cool though. I also noticed that the red lights that are normally used in the normal operation of Space Mountain were light up barely probably from the blue lights. But again, this little thing I noticed was barely noticible. And as "my Uncle Joe Benson" came on, I still was pondering "who the heck is this guy? Is he a band member?" Then when my train entered the hyperspace tunnel, I heard fans clapping in the soundtrack so I decided to start clapping with the soundtrack(which was pretty loud the entire ride but the regular Space Mountain soundtrack is louder but not by much) which got the entire rest of the train to start clapping. LOL. Then as we entered the 2'nd lift hil and the Rockin' Space Mountain sound check tunnel, I noticed that the normal black hole/vortex projection was gone. It was replaced by a type of ball of energy which was really cool. I also noticed the video screens with the sound wave bars and ectera. A very cool touch as well. Then I got into the open air dome. And, as me being a Space Mountain nut never seeing what the track nor the entire structure and interior of the dome looked like with the work lights on so this was a dream come true. I was looking all around at everything in astonishment. (And yes Medusa Man, I saw the track and it does not even resemble a wild mouse so stop calling it that. ) However, when we were turning to get to the 3'rd and final lift hill, I noticed that Disney did not fix the lighting on the asteroid. It spun, but it did not light up. At least Disney was smart enough to shine a maroon colored light on it. I also noticed the projections on the dome's walls. But heres a question for anyone.(You know who you are.) Why do you think the projections look like the dancers from the iPod comercials? These dancer in the cage projections were more detailed than the dancers in the iPod comercial. Anyway, I liked the projections on the walls of the dome but for the most part, I didnt really pay much attention to them. Then, as the countdown started from 5, I started to count down with the soundtrack which got the rest of the train to start counting down with me. Then, as the ride started, it felt so surreal to ride a coaster that I loved and to see everything feeling that it was forbidden but at the same time, it felt good. Also, it felt surreal to know that everytime I rode this coaster, I could only see the shadow of the track but not the entire track. While checking out the track knowing that it was a Vekoma, I thought to myself, this has to be the cleanest job Vekoma has ever done on one of their coasters. Then, as the lyrics to Higher Ground started, I started to sing the song with the soundtrack which got the rest of the riders who knew the song to start singing with me. LOL. Then as I exited, I noticed that the traditonal Space Mountain queue exit didnt play but instead, was replaced by rock music. Then I got to see my on-ride photo and even though Disney did not alter the on-ride photo much, it looked pretty cool. Also, some "bad" CM moved the camera(probably by accident) over a little to the right so it didnt get the entire train. So, guys, my overall thought about Rockin' Space Mountain: It was fun. It was probably the most fun I've had on a coaster in a long time. And, I dont feel that Disney did cheap out. This is the way it was meant to be.... Sure Disney didnt add as much in the 6 months the Rockin' version was not in use but really, who cares? The effects were really good, same with the lighting. The lights were awesome but it would of been cool if it had some lazers and the asteroid was working but, really, wasnt there enough lights in there? And for the people who wanted to see some stobe lights go in Rockin' Space Mountain, stobe lights probably wouldnt of worked well with the choice of colors the lights are in there. Also, I loved the soundtrack. It had a good beat to it, it was well paced, and fit the turns, hills and drops well. I feel Disney did do a good job editing and remixing the soundtrack but when you are aproaching the third lift hill with no music, it was kinda wierd. Overall, the coaster was awesome but the regular Space mountain is better. But, I would like to see a Rockin' overlay of Space Mountain once a year for a set number of months.

Rockin' California Screamin'
OK, right off the bat, yes, WDI did install completely new sound systems into all of the California Screamin' trains but the green train is belived to have scratchy audio. I did not hear this personally since a friend(Jake) said it was scratchy so I decided to avoid the green train. LOL. Anyway, I was walking to Rockin' California Screamin' and as I was walking near the Golden Dreams theater, I could hear the soundtrack to Rockin' California Screamin' I kid you not. And, the closer and closer I got to Rockin' California Screamin' started getting louder and louder. Thats how loud these new sound systems are. So, I decided to get a Fastpass before getting in line. Eventually, once I got onto the overhead bridge above the station, the bridge started shaking every time a train left or arrived at the station. So, naturally, I got the front...again. And as soon as my train left the station, I could not only hear how loud this soundtrack was, I could feel it. So, as we left the station, it sounded like a car taking off. Then, some music comes on and it is some banjo hoedown hick music. Then, we hear a frequency change. So, what it is is supposed to be a radio changing. Then as we bank the turn, we hear the familiar "Alright Screamers. Heads back, face forward and hang on!" spiel under the bridge. Then the radio changes to old time clasical music. Then, the music changes again. It is something you would hear in either a old Disney cartoon or the opening of a a old Disney show with Walt Disney. Then, the radio changes again. Finally, some rock music. Then, we hear the familiar "Launch in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!" spiel. And oh yeah baby, let the hard rock take you away...and the launch too. LOL. Also, I must point out that in Screamin's stop to launch has dramaticly decreased in time. Now, you only sit on the track for 5 or 6 seconds. So, anyway, I cant really say much about Rockin' California Screamin' other than it was AWESOME! I seriously hope Disney keeps the "Around The World" soundtrack permanant cause compared to the old soundtrack, this soundtrack is way better than the old one. Overall, this new Rockin' soundtrack version is better than the old and it has a really great beat to it and actually, has more of a California feel to it compared to the old one. The normal soundtrack has more of a Disney feel to it while the Around The World soundtrack has not only a California feel to it, it has a Disney-eske feel to it. So overall, Rockin' California Screamin' is better than California Screamin'. And, if I were to choose between the two, Rockin' Space Mountain and Rockin' California Screamin', I would choose Rockin' Space Mountain simply because there is more to it than Rockin' California Screamin'.

I went on Rockin' California Screamin' yesterday. It was mediocre. The music barely synced up with events on the ride. I feel Disney half-assed these rides by not making their own, unique, rock-and-roll soundtrack. I can't say Disney made these 'On the cheap' because they might have paid RHCP a bundle for the rights to the music.

Yeah, it wasn't a Disney feel to me. I didn't like it too much.
Love Tomorrowland and Adventureland, but hard to decide to which one is best.

Love RCT3

Well I absolutely loved the song choice and thought it was perfect for the ride...but to each his own. YES I imagine they payed A LOT A LOT to use both tracks

I have to say I think the music fit better on Screamin' than on Space.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I have been on Rockin Space Mountain. It is great!!! Wish they would keep the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I won't do the coaster at DCA but my husband says the music on space is better.

I rode it for the first time last night, and although I have a vested interest (Joe Benson is a very dear friend of our family), I gotta say it was really cute. I'm glad it's a temporary thing though, I don't consider it to be superior to the original Space Mountain, but it's a fun temporary change.

I think they will need to repair the speakers on Screamin when its all over because they sound like they are in horrible shape after turning them up so loudly for this new audio.
