California girls on the DCA caroussel?
I was listening yesterday and was quite shocked when I heard the music to California Girls and noticed that it was on the Caroussel at DCA. I think this is kind of bad taste on Disney's part. Do any of you agree/disagree. I'm NEVER one to bash Disney, and I'm not trying to do that here...I just think that a song with that kind of message should be on some other "more adult" ride if they felt they really needed it in the park. Thoughts?

I don;t think many guests think of the lyrics much when it comes to that song as it's played by caliope, and it's not the actual song... All people think about is California, whch is the point of DCA...

I'm not happy with a lot of things in DCA. They built that park "On the cheap". Those songs sort of belong in the Sunshine Plaza, but the whole boardwalk/carnival was something that went against Walt's ethics.

I guess the arrangements they did aren't half bad. And yeah, they are themed with each of their attractions which is a nice touch.NapoleonD wrote:Considering the lyrics of today's popular music, I have no problem with the Beach Boys. And it's instrumental to boot.
And furthermore, I wish they all could be California Girls, too.
Most are California Girls!

Grizzly Peak music
One of the musical artists of that area is Doyle Dykes, a great guitarist. I'm not sure of the other music there. Maybe that helps...ambiguity123 wrote:I'm not a huge fan of the boardwalk music. I do, however, like the music to the Condor Flats area and the Grizzly peak area. I'm still looking for the radio station music they play during the Grizzly River Run queue.
A very merry unbirthday to you!
I personally think it's whimsical and fun - The Beach Boys are pretty sanitized by today's standards for sure.

We do have Grizzly River area music. But it appears we don't have the Queue.ambiguity123 wrote:I'm not a huge fan of the boardwalk music. Yeah, I love those tracks for sure. I'm sure the queue music will turn up sometime. I like it because it is like a radio show, kind of like the Jungle Cruise queue.subsonic wrote:We do have Grizzly River area music. But it appears we don't have the Queue.

Before Walt died, he had on his plate an expansion of Disneyland (or WDW, can't remember which) ... and it included a pier carnival area. Just like DCA's Paradise Pier.subsonic wrote:I'm not happy with a lot of things in DCA. They built that park "On the cheap".
