Actually, when I saw it in August the Ode to America was there. I'm not sure what the mine scene was originally, but there was a mine cart being driven by Dopey. Maybe they're bringing some of it back?
Did Elliot always "disappear"? They did that effect this time and it was so fun! When his lights turn off, your eyes don't adjust very quick and he does seem to really disappear.
I do know that the lights seem brighter and more sparkling each time I see it!

There is an actual mine unit in the parade as well as Dopey driving mine cars. I was on youtube, and someone put up the WDW version of the EP. When the EP had its run over at Magic Kingdom, they left in most if not the entire original parade.
And the Ode to America, is that the last float with the long flag and female uniformed dancers? That float has always been in the DCA version at the end.
I'm pretty sure Elliot always disappeared. I always liked that.
