Soarin' Music HELP!

Post by skyegirl1999 » Jul Thu 13, 2006 12:03 am

Ok, I have been trying to figure this out for seriously years... there's a very stirring song that is played while in line for "Soarin' Over California", and on July 4 they played it during the Boston Pops 4th of July show! I have the songlist from July 4, but I can't figure out which song is in the Soarin' line! I thought it was the American President one, but all the soundtrack clips I can find online are different... please help!

-American President / Shaiman

-Patton / Goldsmith

-American Salute / Gould

-Dirty Water / The Shandells

-Sprit / Hans Zimmer / Soundtrack

From what I have heard, the Soarin' queue music is possibly a compilation of different compositions from films. I know for a fact one of the songs is "The Dragon's Hearbeat" by Randy Edelman. Check out that track.

As for the songlist you had up there, I could have sworn Jerry Goldsmith was a collaborator for Soarin' Over California's actual music.

Hope that helps!

Yeah, the queue music is a medley of several soundtrack tunes, but there's a chance that what you're looking for IS the soundtrack from "The American President" (IMO the most stirring piece of music in the entire compilation), but you're just listening to the wrong track online. Specifically, it should be the end theme. I loved the queue music to Soarin' as well, and was wondering FOREVER what it was, until I saw "The American President" on cable. When the end titles came up, chills crept up my spine... "THAT'S the song!!", I screamed... but my family members just stared at me as if I was an idiot. But anyway, try that track. If not, try the opening/title track. Let us know if it's the one you're looking for.

^Upon further investigation, you are correct. I guess there are two Soarin' exit tracks. I just requested the exit track for Soarin' on the website, and it is the original composition.

The one I have on my computer is the "End Titles" track of The American President, by Marc Shaiman. My mistake, it was on the playlist!

I'm listening to the stream right now, and noticed that you requested the Soarin' tracks :) I think you're right, the ones that you requested are original compositions for the ride (it's got the same theme, just looped via a beautiful alternate passage). I was just at DCA a couple of days ago, and went on Soarin' three times. I just love that entire experience, even though it's not exactly full of thrills and drops. It's simply great. I wanna go back again :(

Yes, I love that The American President theme is in there, it is so great! I wasn't sure cause I read somewhere that even the queue music was all Goldsmith, but I swore it was AP! Second, I love Goldsmith's work on the actual music for Soarin'! So wonderful! The list of songs from the queue was very helpful, thanks!
