Hmmm. I have always made the dinner reservation a few hours earlier for the same day and have not had any problems getting in. I have even been able to do a walk in at dinner time. These were all at peak busy times of the year. Guess I'm just lucky. 8)

well, i LOVE the blue bayou, but it was so great to me because i didn't have to pay for the food cuz i was 12-13 and that made it better. but the view/atmosphere is GREAT. especially when you're by the water, along with all of the people on pirates yelling to you to throw them some food = ) but that's ok cuz that's what else makes it fun. it's an awesome restaurant overall, if you're willing to pay the price for it. it's a lot like club 33, except, not as expensive and club 33 is SUBSTANTIALLY better and pricier. but they're a lot alike.

The Blue Bayou is my family's fave place to eat in the park. We've gone up around lunchtime and gotten in pretty easily, although lunchtime is around 11 am when it opens. I highly recommend that time, especially because of my all time favorite item: The Monte Christo Sandwich. It's only served at lunch (unless they've changed it recently).

I keep hearing so much about the Monte Cristo sandwich. What's in it that makes it so divine?

It is a deep fried grease ball of goodness. There's something about turkey, ham, melted cheese in a sweet batter dipped in jelly. Mmmm.

That sounds kinda gross. But I'll have to try it. In my lifetime. I'm going to Disneyland next month, but my friends don't wanna do lunch at the Bayou.

I agree! And I've had the sandwich at other restaurants (outside of Disneyland) and the Blue Bayou seems to have the best recipe!

just about everything tastes better when it's deep fried. That sandwich sounds good, but I'd prefer it minus the ham.

One time when the line was too long we just ordered it and they made it for us. You can do that. :) Just talk to the hostess.

Blue Bayou is the best overall restaurant in Disneyland (Club 33 doesn't count). The atmosphere is excellent, it's always a nice place to go at dusk.

OK I have been reading this thread for the past ten minutes and I'm now making Reservations on the phone. My brother will be so surprised. I will try for lunch. Do they let you get near the water for lunch, because I have never seen people(period) by the water?

I always noticed people near the water while riding Pirates of the Carribean, never ate at the resturaunt myself though. But after reading this thread, I think when next I am at Disneyland, I will make it a priority to do so.

Often times, the ragtime band will come out on the balcony above the tables and toss down beads to the diners (women) ala Mardi Gras. The food is good, but the atmosphere is GREAT!
