Well, i think about 55- 70'. Unless you have a recent (80'-now) of a now gone or changed attraction. I intend on putting up a IASW picture from 86' when it was still blue.

As to what happened I think it rotted, I'm not sure. I have the Disneyland USA DVD and it shows it on opening day but I think by the nighttime Disneyland it had gone.
I'll see if I can smuggle some more on.
It was removed when Fantasyland was redone in 1983. It was run by Chicken of the Sea tuna and featured a restaurant. At the same time Pinocchio was added, the Tea Cups were moved, Dumbo was moved, etc.

Loved the old vintage photo's! My fav memories are from the early 1970's, while that isn't really vintage, it was when I felt the park really shined! Next time I am in So. Cal at my folks I will look through the photo albums and see if Mom saved any vintage pics!

Oh, wow, that's so awesome, like a trip back in time. The oldest I think we've got is when my mom and dad went on their honeymoon in 1975. I'll need to see what pictures they took that day.

This thread faded out 3 years ago, but if anyone has any older pics of DLR, it would be great to see them. Somewhere I have some pics from the 80's, but I don't currently have a scanner (and i'm not sure where they are).

I love seeing the Chicken of the Sea boat. I apparently ate there when I was very young and I don't remember anything about it, but my family always tells tales about how much I liked it.

I too was very young, but I don't think we actually ate there. What I do remember is Skull Rock. It scared the crap out of me. Even to this day when I see pictures of it, it startles me a little...
