Subsonic Radio Player for Windows Version 1.4 Released

Post by acp » Aug Sat 04, 2012 10:39 am

Greetings, folks. I've just released a new version of the Subsonic Radio Player for Windows. Version 1.4 is now available by clicking the link below:

Please note that this version of the Subsonic Radio Player has been superceeded by Version 1.5, which is available here.
Subsonic Radio Player 1.4
(Google Chrome users may get a warning that "subsonicradio-1.4.zip is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous". I'm not sure when they started doing that, but you can get around it by clicking the down-arrow on the right of the Discard button and choosing "Keep" from the menu.)

This version addresses the following issues:

+ Stream URLs are now fetched when the application is loaded
- Removed system tray "Play Stream" list (due to the above)

To upgrade your previous version, simply replace the .exe file with the new one from the download.

As mentioned above, this version now fetches the stream URLs from the server when you load the application. This is something I've been meaning to do for a little while now, as it means the list of streams in the application can be updated without having to build a new version of the application.

Full details, as always, are in the ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt files. As previously, you will need the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on your computer for it to run, and the two .dll files should be in the same directory as the .exe.

As always, let me know what you think, and if you have any feedback or questions, my email address is in the ReadMe file. Or you can catch me on the chat (as acp).

Enjoy!

Hey this player is looking awesome, small UI bug I have run into though.

Picture

If it helps I'm running .Net v4.0.30319 at 1920 x 1080 resolution on Windows 7 x64.

Any other information I can provide to help you track this down let me know.

Hi,

That's an odd one I'd not thought of before :)

The reason that's happening is because you have Windows' UI scaling set to 125%, which is causing it to try and draw the application 25% bigger, which is producing the result you're getting due to the way the application is designed.

I've just released a new version, 1.5, which should fix this issue. You can download it from the new news item:

Thanks for the bug report! Let me know if you spot any more niggles.

Just downloaded 1.5. Works as intended. Really admirable of you to have such a quick turn around. Thanks you for doing this.
