Stream Changes

Just a quick update.

We have changed how we handle the background stream encoding.

What this means to you....a better quality of stream, new tracks, and volume normalization.

A note on the new tracks. I tried to screen the tracks to only include instrumental area music, but a few tracks with singing might have slipped in. If you hear any non-instrumental tracks let me know and I will remove them.

For us on the tech side it allows us to consolidate some resources, increase flexibility, and reduce load on the main server.

So its a win win for all

I also heard a Beauty & the Beast show track on the Background Station yesterday. Was that a streaming error or is another one that needs to be removed?

"Walt Disney World - Animal Kingdom - dinoland usa - Area - Loop 1" - This track has a good bit of singing in it.

On a side note, thanks for making updates to the Background channel! It's one of my favorites. We typically listen to it late at night when going to bed. Normalizing the volume is a welcome change. I won't have to keep my hand on the remote anymore.

I remove that track... let me know if you hear anymore

I heard a Tower of Terror area music track last night that had some vocals on it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to check what the exact track was, but figured I'd mention it anyway. If I hear it again, I'll post back here with an update.

I don't know if bdinger was referring to the entire Tower of Terror background loop or not, but it is currently playing on the background station and there are a few tracks within the loop that have vocals on them (i.e. Deep Purple, Wishing, We'll Meet Again...etc).

I'm not sure if that would classify the entire loop to be removed or not...

The track "Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Toontown - Area Music - Solo Pilot Blues" is sung by Goofy; could you remove it from the Background stream?

I don't know the name(s) of the tracks, but whatever played today from 1:15-1:30 pm EDT had some singing in it, most notably the "veggie veggie fruit fruit" song. Media Player doesn't display the names of the tracks as they play. Can you go back and look at what was playing at that time?

Now it's "let's listen to the land" Is it the land area loop? It's cracking me up. I didn't pay a lot of attention until there were these little ditties being sung.
