Subsonic Radio SXI WDW Meetup - 10 and 11 December, 2011

So we've had a think, and we've come up with a plan (of sorts) for the SXI meetup at Walt Disney World in December. We're looking at two afternoons of meetups which we've arranged around the WDWToday Reunion events, so people attending those can do so as well as attending our SSR meets. So here's the plan:

Saturday 10 December at 4pm - Magic Kingdom
Meeting at the Tomorrowland Terrace dining area (lower part of). (Google Map to meeting place)

Sunday 11 December at 1pm - Disney's Hollywood Studios
Meeting to the right of the Great Movie Ride. (Google Map to meeting place)

(For some reason, the map links don't default to the Satellite view. They might make more sense if you switch to that view!)

Both days, we'll be there until either we get fed up or the park closes - whichever comes first. Magic Kingdom closes at 10pm on the Saturday and Disney's Hollywood Studios closes at 11pm on the Sunday, so there's plenty of time to do whatever we decide to

As for what we're going to do when we're gathered, we'll decide that when we get there depending on what people fancy If you've any ideas, do let us know! Do also let us know if you're thinking of joining us, so we can get an idea of how many people to expect. We'll hang around at the meeting point for around 20 minutes from the times above before moving on, so don't worry if you're running a few minutes late!

Anybody have experience with "Drinking around the World" at epcot? I've always wanted to try that. I guess it's not too hard, just go to the pavilions that sell alcohol. I guess I don't know which they are.

You either start in Mexico and walk around to end in Canada or you start in Canada and walk around to end in Mexico. From what I've heard you can get pretty tipsy if you do it fast enough on a warm summer night.

Been there done that 3 times and have the pictures to prove it. It was costly but I was young and had fun experience with different people each time.

Actually the Very Merry Christmas Party is Friday Dec 9th, so the Magic Kingdom is open until 10pm on Saturday Dec. 10th! So we can go well into the night. We are planning on staying for the Electric Light Parade, Magic and Memories Show and Wishes. They light the castle at 6:10pm with a lighting ceremony for Mickey Mouse, I seriously cannot wait!!

I had planned Fri Dec 9th in EPCOT and a Candlelight Processional Dinner Package, Sat Dec 10th in Magic Kingdom, and Sun Dec 11th in Hollywood Studios. We are at the Boardwalk. So this worked out totally great for me! We will see you at both events!!! Yay!!!!

Well spotted. I must have read the wrong line on the calendar. I've updated the original post to reflect this.

I'll be at WDW from the 3rd to the 17th, and will be at most of the WDWToday Reunion events, as well as these SSR events.

That sounds good. Assuming we're all still gathered at those times, that might be a good idea

Although I think it's more likely to be regular Wishes, since IIRC they only do the holiday one on non-party nights for the last week before Christmas.

I think the agenda will most likely involve a couple of attractions, a lot of chatting, some eating and the parade/fireworks. Of course, that's all subject to change depending on what people want to do/if any better ideas surface on the day Basically, we'll do what the gathered people want

I work 900 to 1745 at Pirates on Saturday the 10th so I can meet up with yall somewhere after I get off work. You should defnitely come ride Pirates during the morning to look for me. And I am good to hang out Friday somewhere with whoever is free!

Awesome! With any luck, we'll be tweeting from the meet (@subsonic_radio), so you should be able to find us fairly easily (assuming we remember to keep updating it!). I'll also be tweeting from my own twitter account (@acp) over the two weeks I'm at WDW.

Right.. Now I should probably do some sorting out/packing at some point, since I fly to WDW on Saturday.....
