Stream Status
UPDATE
We are transitioning a few servers, so if you have some issues for the next few hours hang in there. They will resolve themselves by tomorrow. By tomorrow we will have restored the 24k stream. This will bring us back to 100%
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems we cruised into a perfect storm of stream outages ...... sigh
We lost all Request streams and the scheduled stream for a bit. I am happy to say we have recovered most of the streams. We have restored the Request 96k and 64k streams along with the scheduled stream.
I attached a poll to ask if we even need to restore the 24k stream.
Lets hope things are smooth sailing for a while. Thanks to lonepalm for donating bandwidth for the 64k stream.
We could use extra bandwidth in our time of need. Any one with a connection with at least 5mb of upload speed, please let us know. SR is run completely by the kindness of a few who donate their bandwidth and time.

Re: Stream Status
I miss listening to Subsonic on my phone. I can only stream the 24k without constant buffering. I understand about relying on the kindness of people to donate bandwidth though so I won't be bitter if the 24k stream doesn't show up...sigh...

Re: Stream Status
I'm only a two upload with cablevision I'm perfectly fine with the 64 and 96. 64K is perfect for streaming on 3G service.

Re: Stream Status
64k does work sometimes, but my phone still finds it necessary to buffer a lot. We don't have great service out here in the sticksLen90 wrote:I'm only a two upload with cablevision I'm perfectly fine with the 64 and 96. 64K is perfect for streaming on 3G service.
Re: Stream Status
Thanks guys for the shoutouts! It is my pleasure to donate my bandwidth for this great music. I'm glad it was available when the storms rolled through, so there wasn't too much downtime for the request stream.
Re: Stream Status
I voted no, but after some thought, maybe a 24k stream wouldn't be so bad...it could be used or labeled as a mobile stream only or something. I am usually ok with the better streams, but last time I tried a couple weeks ago, it was very choppy with buffering.

My pleasure! It's the least I can do!bdinger wrote:Thanks, lonepalm, for your donation of bandwidth!!!
As to the poll, I voted "no". I don't want to speak for others but, personally, I use the higher bitrate streams.

Thank you lonepalm! And thank you to everyone who donates time and resources to make this site go.
I voted no, however I do occasionally use the 24k stream on my phone when coverage is bad. So do I need it? No, but I do use it now and then.

Re: Stream Status
Thanks lonepalm. My bandwidth is back and ready for the scheduled stream to be reconnected at the CO's leisure.

I voted yes for the same reason.Amy wrote:I miss listening to Subsonic on my phone. I can only stream the 24k without constant buffering. I understand about relying on the kindness of people to donate bandwidth though so I won't be bitter if the 24k stream doesn't show up...sigh...

Re: Stream Status
Thanks for keeping the 24k stream, it's the only one that will function where I work. Summer
Re: Stream Status
You're welcome. It's pretty low bandwidth so it's not that hard to maintain. I think it's good we keep it.

Re: Stream Status
Hi!
I know I have been away for a long time, so maybe things have changed. I can't get any of the request streams to play -- they start up but I don't hear anything. Soarin, Scheduled, and Background streams all seem be just fine.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Nicole
