Okay, so, I'm about to start working on an update. These are the issues I hope to address:
  • Volume slider on the main screen when appropriate
  • Touch the now-playing song title for a larger version, that doesn't cut off the title.
  • Additional credit for the Deco font "Keming" requested by that font's author.
One additional issue was that the Soarin' and Star Tunnel streams are reported as 64k in the app, and this doesn't seem to be accurate. That value is specified in the document the app retrieves from the server. I'm going to get that repaired. :)

Thank you all again for the excellent feedback, suggestions, and criticisms. They've really been excellent.

And thank you all for having such an awesome site/community. This place is awesome!

http://umlautllama.com/rand/?iphone-Subsonic-101 has a few screenshots of the current work-in-progress for v1.1.

Shown in these 3 shots:
  • Volume control on the "main" screen
  • Full-screen song title - pops up when you tap the "now playing" box. Stays up for 5 seconds, or until you touch the screen.
  • Updated the "about" page to include additional font credits, and tweaked credit for Cory
(this is not out yet, still working on development, just wanted to give a little preview. :goofy: )

For what it's worth, here's a time-lapse video of me writing it. Note that it starts out with a different look, before Cory stepped in and made it look good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mP53p9fDB30

Hey all!

Version 1.1 has now been submitted to Apple. Here's what's new:
  • Volume slider is now shown on the main screen
  • Big song title mode added - just tap in the "now playing" box
  • Additional font credit given to Character55 for the Deco font
  • Gifts added
  • Additional bugfixes
If previous results are anything to base expectations on, it will likely be available around Friday, September 10.

Thanks, BlueLlama!

I just got my first iPod because of that special deal at the Apple store - buy a desktop, get an iPod free - and this was the first app I installed. My wife and I have replaced both cell phones and a desktop in the last week, and ALL have a different operating system than I have used before. I was over-teched and grouchy  , until I downloaded your app. My wife noticed the change immediately (how can she tell! :?: )

Subsonic - life is good again :mickey:
No really, see? It's a screwdriver and it's... sonic
