Subsonic would be the only reason I would be happy sitting in a cubicle, or dare I dream, my own office. I will have to try the next time I am at school and see if it will stream - never had enough time to try to listen. I have found that my iphone doesn't work very well as a radio either - I can listen for a few seconds up to a few minutes before it is buffering again - I think that is more of a 3G coverage problem though - and it eats up the battery pretty quickly listening to my favorite music :mickey:

Subsonic at work

Post by Twirly41 » Mar Sun 14, 2010 2:37 pm

Sadly, I can't listen at work. My employer blocks streaming also. I would LOVE to be able to listen all day.

Listen at work all day, but to be nice, I use the 24k stream.

Post by Joepsycho4 » Mar Mon 15, 2010 12:35 pm

I am unable to listen at work. I am able to connect to other streaming music, just not Subsonic.

Thanks

Does Dtunes work for you? If so, then it would mean your place of employment blocks port 8000

What player are you using to connect?

My employer has restrictions on our computers. What I do to circumvent this is to first get into Background and let that buffer complete. Next I go on 96k and then it also buffers. If I try to get on 96k first, it doesn't work.

Thanks

Steve
Hope you have a great day

I can connect fine, but my office's web screening is fairly lax.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.

It's strange, I just recently started having problems with my connections... Never had any issues before.

My work network is strict and I have to listen over my phone - I'd love a common port solution.
