9th Week of Magic - Tomorrowland Part 2

Post by subsonic » Apr Sun 10, 2005 11:34 pm

Less than a month to go before Disneyland begins it's 50th Birthday Bash. Yes, I know it's not Disneyland's actual birthday but May 5th is Disney's start date of the big bash. I'm told this is because the date is 05/05/05 and backwards that's 50 50 50.

Also, I was at Disneyland today and the place is looking fantastic. I'm delighted that Tomorrowland (my favorite land) is getting repainted. The blues, whites, and silvers fit much better.

Anyways...
Part 2 of Tomorrowland includes:

01 tomorrowland a musical tour
02 autopia - announcement sounds
03 monorail
04 submarine voyage (stereo)
05 tomorrowland art corner
06 tomorrowland viewliner oldsmobile
07 peoplemover (goodyear)
08 carousel of progress
09 america sings (stereo)

Yeah, Tomorrowland is starting to look pretty spiffy!

I can't wait to listen to the 2nd part of Tomorrowland with some of my favorite(now extinct) rides. Thanks again Sub!

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

Oh I feel stupid. It came on right after I posted. It brings back old memories and I'm only 15. That's sad.

Whoops, I forgot to update the schedule. It's always the same times though. I just forgot to change the text. Fixed now.

Who's voices are used in carousel of progress ? Everytime I hear this
it brings back such great memories of sitting through this ride. Not that it's a big deal I just can't remember the voices of the characters...........I know the man did a lot of the narrating of the nature shows Disney did.

The first bit of music that you hear on the Peoplemover track isn't on any of the other Peoplemover tracks, is it? That's one of the tunes that I can remember from riding the Peoplemover when I was a kid. Bitchin'!

You can tell that Carousel of Progress was scripted before PETA came into existence, because the guy is constantly yelling at his dog when it makes a little noise. "Buster! You keep making noise and I'll chain you to the back fence during the next rainstorm!"

I also want to know what that first music on the week 2 tomorrowland peoplemover version is. I think the TTA uses it too.

An interesting piece of trivia regarding Tomorrowland week 2...

During the western music portion of the America Sings track, you can hear the following lyrics (sung in a stereotypical Hispanic accent):

"Who shot that hole in my sombrero?
Who put that bullet through my hat?
Who shot that hole in my sombrero?
Who would do a terrible thing like that?

Was it Pancho,
from the rancho?
Did he do this because I kissed his wife?"

However, this was not used in the final version of America Sings that appeared at Disneyland. In favor of a more "politically correct" recording, the lyrics were changed to the following:

"Who shot that hole in my sombrero?
Who put that bullet through my hy-at?
Who shot that hole in my sombrero?
Who would do a turrible thang like thy-at?

I cain't figger
who'd pull that trigger.
You don't reckin mah wife could be back in ty-own?"

Yet another piece of Disneyland trivia that you didn't really need to know.
